We are currently hiring for the position of:
PRESS LIAISON
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications, the Press Liaison will be part of the team that executes red carpets as part of the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival. This includes working closely with press, publicists, talent and TIFF’s venue team to ensure a flawless, professional carpet experience for all stakeholders involved.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare each red carpet for the arrival of press
• Working with TIFF’s venue team to ensure the carpet is presentable and photo ready
• Ensure appropriate signage and delegate numbers are ready
• Working with other TIFF teams for any last minute changes or concerns that will affect that specific carpet
• Greeting and checking in press covering each red carpet and placing them in their designated position
• Fielding any questions or concerns from press or publicists with confidence and superior stakeholder relations
• Working with the red carpet lead to ensure everything remains on time in preparation for the film screening to begin
• Printing and prepping documentation related to each red carpet (Delegation numbers, tip sheets, etc)
• Additional support where needed as directed by TIFF Director, Communications.
RATE OF PAY:
• $20.00/Hourly
TARGET CONTRACT DATES:
• September 5, 2023-September 17, 2023
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Degree or diploma in communications, events or media an asset
• Strong experience of working on red carpets and in high pressure environments
• Previous experience working in the film and entertainment industry is an asset.
• Experience working with talent, or on red carpets is an asset.
• Excellent customer service and confident communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work in an ever changing environment
• Superior time management skills
• Professionalism and maturity working around press and talent
• Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends
• This position requires being in office on a regular basis.
