TIFF - THE MARKET
We are currently hiring for the position of:
MANAGER, MARKET SCREENINGS SALES
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Market Sales, the Manager, Market Screenings Sales is responsible for driving revenue through the strategic sale and management of screening opportunities across Market cinemas. This role focuses on engaging key industry clients, optimizing screening inventory, and ensuring a high-quality buyer experience. Reporting to senior leadership, the Manager plays a critical role in achieving annual revenue targets and maximizing the commercial and strategic value of Market screenings.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Revenue Generation & Sales Management
• Drive screening sales by proactively engaging sales agents, distributors, and producers to secure bookings across Market screening cinemas
• Own and deliver an annual revenue target of approximately $650,000 through strategic sales execution
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of new and returning clients to ensure consistent revenue performance
• Develop and sell tailored screening packages, including premium slots, bundled offerings, and private screening opportunities
Client Strategy & Advisory
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them strategically use screenings to support sales, deal-making, and market visibility
• Recommend optimal screening times, formats, and positioning based on client objectives and buyer behaviour
• Develop strong client relationships that support repeat business and long-term engagement
Screening Inventory & Scheduling Management
• Own and manage the screening schedule across all Market cinemas to ensure balanced inventory allocation and strong commercial performance
• Make real-time scheduling decisions based on demand, priority, and revenue potential while maintaining a high-quality buyer experience
• Ensure optimal use of screening capacity to maximize both revenue and strategic value
Operational Delivery & Cross-Functional Coordination
• Oversee the full screening lifecycle, including content intake, technical readiness, and coordination of pre-screening requirements
• Work closely with programming, operations, technical, projection, and venue teams to ensure smooth execution and rapid issue resolution
• Support onsite execution during the Market, including troubleshooting, buyer support, and VIP/priority access management
Sales Enablement & Communications
• Equip internal sales and client-facing teams with accurate information on screening products, pricing, and availability
• Develop clear client-facing materials such as screening packages, specifications, and timelines to support sales efforts
• Ensure consistent and accurate communication across stakeholders to support revenue delivery
Reporting & Performance Analysis
• Track revenue performance and adjust strategy based on pacing, demand, and market trends
• Analyze attendance, buyer engagement, and screening performance to identify opportunities for improvement
• Contribute to post-Market reporting with insights on client behaviour, operational performance, and revenue outcomes
• Job Grade: 3
TARGET CONTRACT DATES:
• May - September 17th, 2026
WORK LOCATION:
• Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5
• Weekly in-office requirements:
• Minimum 2 days (November to April)
• Minimum 3 days (May to October)
• Festival Office Requirements: Full Time during Festival
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Film Studies, Event Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 4–7 years of experience in sales, account management, media sales, film sales, or event-based revenue roles
• Proven track record of achieving revenue targets in a fast-paced, client-driven environment
• Experience working in film markets, festivals, entertainment sales, or similar B2B environments is strongly preferred
• Experience managing scheduling, inventory, or high-volume booking systems is an asset
• Strong sales and negotiation skills with the ability to close high-value deals
• Deep understanding of client strategy, audience behaviour, and market dynamics
• Strong organizational and scheduling skills with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive, high-pressure environment
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills with senior industry stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make real-time decisions confidently
• Proficiency with CRM systems and scheduling or booking platforms
• Strong Excel/data analysis skills for tracking revenue, forecasting, and performance analysis
• Experience with screening, media delivery, or content management systems is an asset
• Onsite presence required during event execution
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively in live operational environments
