TIFF - THE MARKET
We are currently hiring for the position of:
MANAGER, MARKET PROGRAMMING ADMINISTRATION
The Manager, Market Programming Administration contributes to the planning and delivery of partner initiatives, including Mentorships, Fellowships, Awards, and Showcases. Reporting to the Director - Market Programming and Creator Development, the Producer is responsible for ensuring that all programme activities are executed to the highest creative, professional, and operational standards while serving as a key liaison between programme partners, participants, and internal teams.
This is an operationally focused position that manages a portfolio of industry partnerships, oversees administrative processes, and maintains efficient workflows with both external stakeholders and internal departments. Working under the direction of the Director, the Producer, and managing a team, the Manager ensures that each initiative aligns with and advances the creative vision, strategic objectives, and reputational goals of the Market and its partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works closely with the Director - Market Programming and Creator Development on budget allocation, reconciliation and resource allocation, and administers in collaboration with the Market Programming team and the Market Admin and Opps Team
• Updates and administers a comprehensive Market Programming schedule and critical path with the Director - Market Programming and Creator Development
• Administers Market Programming Meetings, creates meeting schedules and follows up on actions and next steps
• Works closely with the Market Delegate Experience Team on Market Access, Guest Experience, Ticketing and Submissions processes and operations
• Oversee regular cost reports, including speaker fees, fellowships, hotel tracking, travel and contra/ entertainment expenses in collaboration with each Market Producer per initiative
• Represents the Market Department at meetings and collaborates with other teams when required
• Administers the hiring process for Coordinators, Independent Contractors and Application Readers, including updating job descriptions, timesheets and the contracting process
• Leads new team members through training sessions on interdepartmental, administrative, technical and event production processes
• Manages and mentors a team on the speaker and participant invitation process, including invitation, itinerary/schedule, and hand-off to the hospitality team
• Plays a key role in leading the schedule, deadlines and leads processes for Artifax, Trello, ROS, schedules and tech requirements
• Conducts focused community and organization research and outreach
• Managing communications with alumni, industry guests, including event invitations, surveys, updates and compiling programme statistics and reporting
• Oversees all surveying to Market Programming stakeholders and participants with the support of Market Producers
• Tracks and reports on alumni project updates and participation
• Leads the compilation and distribution of reports, decks, and presentations for Market Programming initiatives
TARGET CONTRACT DATES:
• Immediate or upon availability
WORK LOCATION:
• Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5
• Weekly in-office requirements:
• Minimum 2 days (1st November – 30th April)
• Minimum 3 days (1st May – 31st October)
• Festival Office Requirements: Full Time during Festival
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the Canadian or international film industries
• Experience managing producing the planning and execution of high-level screen industry events
• Experience working with a film festival, preferably in a programming administration or production capacity
• Experience communicating with industry professionals and film creators
• Exceptionally strong administrative and organizational skills
• Technical aptitude; learning and using programmes such as Artifax, Trello
• Able to handle difficult situations and people with aplomb and grace
• Excellent communication skills
Nice to Haves:
• Knowledge of other languages is an asset
• PMP certification
• Strong knowledge of Canadian and international film landscapes with a working knowledge of trends, emerging and established filmmakers, and key players
• Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends
