We are currently hiring for the position of:
ASSISTANT, MARKET ENGAGEMENT & SERVICES
The Assistant, Market Engagement & Services will be responsible for supporting the administrative implementation of the delegate experience in the lead-up to and during the 2026 edition of TIFF: The Market during the Toronto International Film Festival. They will report to the Manager, Delegate Experience & Submissions.
Working within a high-volume, time-sensitive environment, the role supports the data collection across internal teams to produce aligned service delivery. Their work will contribute to building training materials and operational readiness to support ongoing delegate experience optimization.
Additionally, the role assists in maintaining administrative workflows and managing front-facing communication channels that support delegates from application through to on-site engagement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Attendee Inquiry Management
• Support the Market’s general inquiries inbox as a centralized intake point, ensuring timely triage and routing of cross-vertical inquiries to appropriate teams.
• Identify and escalate complex or sensitive inquiries as needed, supporting an accessible and inclusive attendee experience.
• Respond to delegate and participant inquiries during The Market, ensuring clear, accurate and consistent communication aligned with established service standards.
• Cross-Functional Integration & Operations
• Maintain and update internal resources, templates, and process documentation to support team efficiency and consistency.
• Assist in the collection of operational data from various internal departments to support our team’s development of internal training materials, attendee-facing communications and frontline delegate resources.
• Surveying attendee touchpoints, by reviewing both physical signage and digital content. Ensuring information is up to date and aligned.
• Help support the coordination between internal Market and Festival departments to maintain our team’s workflow and ability to meet deadlines.
• Supporting the training of volunteers prior to and during The Market and serve as an escalation point for them.
• Collect attendee feedback and survey recurring issues and/or process gaps to support ongoing operational improvements.

TARGET CONTRACT DATES:
• Monday, July 6 th , 2026– Sunday, September 20 th , 2026
WORK LOCATION:
• Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5
• Weekly in-office requirements:
• Minimum 2 days (November to April)
• Minimum 3 days (May to October)
• Festival Office Requirements: Full Time during Festival
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Education & Experience
• A degree in arts management and/or administration is considered an asset.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in customer service, stakeholder-facing environments, or event/festival environments.
• Experience managing high-volume communications with external stakeholders
• Experience with writing, copy-editing or editorial review is considered an asset.
• Experience within film, festival, entertainment or industry-facing environments is considered an asset.
• Key Skills:
• Demonstrated ability to maintain data within defined systems, with the added capability to work efficiently across multiple workflows.
• Sound judgement and professionalism when managing delegate issues, escalations, and policy enforcement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills when working with filmmakers and film professionals, industry professionals, partners, and internal teams.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Additional language proficiency is considered a strong asset.
• Mental effort ability to:
• Concentrate for prolonged periods with accuracy.
• Provide service to multiple stakeholder groups with various cultural and professional needs.
• Work under simultaneous deadlines.
