We are currently hiring for the position of:
MANAGER, FESTIVAL PROGRAMMING
The Manager, Festival Programming will liaise with internal stakeholders on, and manage various intradepartmental tasks associated with, the planning, programming and execution of TIFF's festivals, including co-chairing and representing the department at all festival Production meetings.
Responsibilities
• Attend and co-chair Canada's Top Ten, TIFF Kids and Festival Production Committee Meetings, including creating agendas and writing summaries;
• Create and maintain department critical path, inclusive of all department and programming initiatives;
• Attend and collect materials, information and statistics for Canada's Top Ten, TIFF Kids and Festival Post Mortem
• meetings, including creating comprehensive Post Mortem packages;
• Create and maintain Improvement Grids for the department festivals;
• Oversee the annual updating of submission and invitations forms for TIFF festivals;
• Represent the Festival Programming department at internal meetings, as required;
• Manage department budget (excluding staffing and staff travel lines) and related communication with Finance, including project budgets for all programming initiatives;
• Serve as the department's Facilities and IT liaison;
• Serve as the department's Artifax (relational database) liaison, including overseeing all data and reporting requirements;
• Serve as TIFF's FIAPF liaison, including preparing annual information packages;
• Oversee, including any relevant hiring, on-boarding, regular check-ins, mid-year and year-end reviews, and career conversations, for select full-time and seasonal staff positions;
• Oversee schedule board conflict checks, data entry and proofing processes;
• Assist the department with creating and sending screening schedule notification letters;
• Assist the department with other administrative work, as necessary.
Minimum Requirements
• Demonstrated passion for film and cinema culture;
• 5 years of work experience in arts and culture administration;
• 3 years experience managing multiple staff reports;
• Proven ability to provide high quality work within strict deadlines;
• Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail;
• Precise memory for names, positions, companies and situations;
• Mature personal judgment, exhibiting a high level of professionalism and diplomacy;
• Able to handle difficult situations and people with aplomb and grace;
• Excellent phone manner, communication fluency and interpersonal strengths;
• Proficiency with computers and applications (including Microsoft Office Suite, relational databases and the

• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
• Desire and ability to take initiative and manage projects;
• Ability to work and respond well in fast-paced and high pressure environments with a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends;
• Verbal and written fluency in a second language considered an asset.
