We are currently hiring for the position of:
LOGISTICS PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR, FESTIVAL VENUES
Reporting to Manager, Festival Logistics, the Logistics Production Supervisor is responsible for the onsite coordination and supervision of all equipment, and logistical production elements of TIFF Screening Venues, including installs of branding structures, deliveries, and sampling/activations. Coordinates the delivery of supplies, services, equipment, as per the production schedule to ensure the successful execution of screening venue activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Shall include but not be limited to:
• Work with Logistics Coordinator, Festival Venues to follow production schedule and ensure the efficient completion of all production builds and load-ins for screening venues
• Work with Front of House teams to ensure all venues adhere to the designated floor plan layouts
• Supervise installations of branding, red carpets, and other builds, in accordance with union rules
• Keep detailed records on final layouts, installation locations, and FOH operational needs, particularly if changes were required onsite
• Touch base with FOH teams during setup and strike, and throughout Festival to maintain highest level of support and communication
• Assist in the coordination of on-site venue and red carpet setups and load outs including temporary street closures and barricade movement.
• Coordinate and supervise the load out and return of all logistics vehicles, venue and departmental supplies, signage, and equipment.
• Supervise production staff in the production of Festival Venues
• Ensure that production labour is following safety protocol and meeting industry standard safety guidelines, including breaks, working in pairs, and material handling
• Monitor, respond, and escalate safety, security and medical emergencies within Festival Village in accordance with emergency protocols
• Manage break and meal schedules for TIFF venue logistics staff
• Prepare pre-Festival task lists and daily work orders for production assistants in collaboration with Coordinator
• Deliver detailed post mortem notes and post-festival reporting on or before September 19th, 2025.
• Other duties as assigned.
NOTE – this position may involve extended hours during the Festival, September 4 - 14.
JOB GRADE & SALARY:
• Job Grade 1
• $24/Hour
TARGET CONTRACT DATES:
• Wednesday, July 2 to Friday, September 19
WORK LOCATION:
• Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5
• Weekly in-office requirements:
• Minimum 2 days (November to May)
• Minimum 3 days (June to October)
• Festival Office Requirements: Full Time during Festival
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the area of event production and logistics coordination of cultural or corporate events.
• Experience with indoor and outdoor event setups and operations.
• Previous festival, theatre, or large event production experience is an asset.
• University degree, college diploma or equivalent work experience
Skill
• Ability to take a pre-formulated production schedule and plan and understand the needs of an event on a short timeline
• Excellent planning, organizational, and problem solving skills
• Experience working with vendors onsite
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Experience working with multiple teams and environment to communicate and understand the operational needs of a venue, while maintaining safety and logistical efficiency
• Desire and ability to take initiative and coordinate projects
• Ability to work and respond well in fast-paced and high pressure environments
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities
• Ability to prioritize when faced with tight timelines and competing priorities
• Keen attention to detail
• Ability to clearly layout processes and procedures for others to follow
Effort
• Ability to work and respond well in fast-paced and high pressure environments
• Ability to work irregular hours (overnights, early mornings, weekends) as required.
• Being aware of surroundings for extended period of time while operating around vehicles, public, security needs, etc
• Providing service to several people, departments or venues
• Ability to stand, bend and/or lift for long periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry between 10-35lbs for long periods of time
• Ability to support physical production build of Festival Screening Venues as required
