We are currently hiring for the position of:
ASSISTANT, INDUSTRY SERVICES
The Assistant, Industry Services will be responsible for the administrative implementation of accreditation for professionals as well as facilitating delegate experience and services in the lead-up to and during the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as first point of contact for professionals provide customer service over email and phone in a courteous and efficient manner
• Process accreditation application requests in an efficient and accurate manner.
• Process and troubleshoot payments including credit card transactions, invoices, refunds, and group payments through TIFF’s e-commerce tool
• Support outreach to industry partners, guilds, colleges, and universities to cultivate new audiences and grow TIFF’s Industry activities for the Festival.
• Support transfer of data and organization to internal production teams teams managing online platforms
• Provide assistance for the timely and accurate production of industry passes
• Administratively support various initiatives across the services vertical including but not limited to, financial reporting and reconciliation, hospitality and travel support, communications,and the sorting and delivery of accreditation to professionals.
• Support administrative tasks related to complimentary passes for contractually obligated stakeholders both internal and external
• Attend weekly team meetings and contribute as needed in regards to individual tasks/portfolio
• Write a detailed post-mortem .
JOB GRADE & SALARY:
• Job Grade 1
• $20-23 per hour commensurate with experience.
TARGET CONTRACT DATES:
• June 23- September 14, 2025
WORK LOCATION:
• Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5
• Weekly in-office requirements:
• Minimum 2 days (November to May)
• Minimum 3 days (June to October)
• Festival Office Requirements: Full Time during Festival
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Degree in arts management, administration or commerce considered an asset
• Minimum of 3 years experience working with staff and delegating responsibilities
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Canadian and International Industries with ability to demonstrate
• Working knowledge of domestic and international distribution, sales activities, national promotional agency networks, funding practices, co-productions and international film festivals and markets
• Exceptional business writing skills with attention to detail, including but not limited e-marketing, social media messaging and proposals.
• Demonstrative ability to listen to client feedback and adapt strategies for communication accordingly.
• Ability to speak foreign language considered an asset
• Ability to think critically and anticipate issues or opportunities and proactively propose solutions to address them.
• Ability to work well under pressure and make quick but informed decisions
• Strong accounting and financial acumen
• Ability to deliver feedback and service with a high level of tact and diplomacy when working with clients.
• Demonstrative accounting and negotiation experience required
• Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends
• This position requires being in office on a regular basis.
