We are currently hiring for the position of:
DIRECTOR, NEW BUSINESS
The Director, New Business will develop and grow revenue and profitability from new corporate partners, inspiring them to support the activities of TIFF through mutually beneficial partnerships. This role will lead the New Business (Sales) vertically to drive net new revenue (Minimum $2.5M annually) . The successful incumbent will be a dedicated senior support for all corporate sales, with focus on major and significant investments (>$40,000/annum).
The Director, New Business will lead the vertical strategic direction for net new revenue generation including sales strategy, asset development, templates, pricing and valuation, reporting, as well as support on existing account renewals and upsells where required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leading the development and ongoing management of an active sales pipeline of up ~$10M qualified corporate partnerships leads, contributing to the organization’s financial sustainability through maximized revenue from partners
• Identifying and developing sustainable programs and strategies for current accounts/net new business partnerships on local, national and international scales
• Issuing specific revenue targets to each team member, including specified targets for incremental sales/upsells
• Overseeing all sales activity from pitch phase through contracting. Actively participating in sales activity with prospective value >$100,000/annum.
• Acting as senior representative at Management Team and Revenue Generators tables to create, enhance, and execute cross-departmental revenue streams
• Leveraging market intelligence to identify, develop and implement new service offerings, assets and value propositions that will deliver high value partnerships
• Supporting annual department budget development and managing expenses within an approved budget
• Recruiting, developing and managing a team of 3 team members ranging from Assistant to Senior Manager. Identifying and delivering solutions for team professional development. Providing effective people and client/prospect management; including goal setting, professional development, coaching and ongoing productive feedback.
• Other responsibilities may include but not be limited to: Festival ticket steering, Festival team scheduling, venue management, development of departmental operational/process manual(s) and templates
JOB GRADE & SALARY:
• Job Grade 5
• $90,000-$125,000/annually
TARGET CONTRACT DATES:
• November 13, 2023 - December 20, 2024
WORK LOCATION:
• Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5
• Weekly in office requirements:
• Minimum 2 days (November to May)
• Minimum 3 days (June to October)
• Festival Office Requirements: Full Time during Festival
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 10 years of sponsorship/partnerships sales, agency business development, or relevant sales experience (equivalent experience in a related field will be considered).
• Proven experience driving 7-figure/ annum pipelines with proven track record closing 6-7-figure deals.
• Confidently lead high-stake negotiations with C-Suite stakeholders (internal and external) for sales (net new negotiations, stewardship, etc.)
• Competently lead a high volume of presentations (internal and external). Exceptional presentation skills will be key to success in this role. Being comfortable crafting, delivering, and editing a high volume of presentations on an ongoing basis is essential.
• Effectively chair and/or co-chair internal and external meetings with multiple stakeholders to drive results, including but not limited to creating net new programmes and facilitating productive interdepartmental brainstorms
• Exceptional business writing skills with attention to detail, including but not limited to executive briefing, decks, proposals, term sheets and contracts
• Conduct ongoing market research to identify prospects for prospective sponsorship activities
