PMRe: FBO Director
Penske Media Real Estate (PMRe), a division of Penske Media Corp. (PMC) is hiring an experienced, discreet, and hospitality-driven FBO Director to oversee daily operations of the Fixed Base Operation servicing our private runway on Torch Cay, a luxury private island in Exuma. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless arrivals and departures for our members and guests, prioritizing discretion, service excellence, and safety. The role also demands financial oversight, team development and guest relations.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Services & Hospitality:
• Ensure all ground services are delivered with five-star quality and total discretion.
• Coordinate all VIP arrivals and departures, including pre-clearance with Bahamas
• Customs and Immigration as required.
• Liaise with pilots, flight departments, and concierge staff regarding client preferences, timing, and logistics.
• Provide personalized services such as chauffeured transport, baggage delivery to villa or boat, private security, and last-minute guest requests.
• Regularly interact with clients to promote satisfaction and use feedback for continuous improvement.
Operations Management:
• Oversee day-to-day FBO operations including ramp handling, fuel services, runway scheduling, and airside protocol.
• Maintain meticulous records including manifests, runway logs, and operationalchecklists.
• Ensure readiness of all ground support equipment and facilities.
• Monitor local market trends and competitors in collaboration with the Revenue Management team.
• Develop understanding of the FBO market and identify growth opportunities.Client Privacy & Security
• Enforce strict confidentiality procedures and secure handling of sensitiveinformation.
• Coordinate with security on aircraft perimeter management, no-fly zoenforcement, and NDA compliance.
• Ensure all FBO staff are trained in white-glove service, UHNW protocols, and data privacy.
Team & Vendor Oversight:
• Lead, train, and manage ground crew, fuel handlers, and service agents.
• Maintain optimal staffing levels based on seasonal and operational demands.
• Manage vendor contracts, performance, and relationships.
• Conduct annual reviews, mentor team members, and ensure staff engagement and skill development.
• Ensure all employees receive communication, safety, service standards, and compliance training.
Compliance & Safety:
• Ensure adherence to BCAA and ICAO regulations, and internal Torch Cay operational policies.
• Manage emergency response protocols, fire safety measures, and SHEBBAsystems.
• Promote a culture of safety through daily briefings, monthly meetings, and documented audits.\
• Formulate and implement procedures for aircraft incidents, fire, or other emergencies.
Business Development & Financial Oversight:
• Develop business plans with capital requirements and performance forecasts.
• Prepare and manage annual FBO budget including forecasting, expenditures, and financial audits.
• Conduct competitive analysis of pricing, services, and positioning.
• Build partnerships with airport authorities, potential clients, and commercial partners.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Extensive experience in FBO, airport, or private aviation management (5 years preferred)
• Strong track record with UHNW client service, VIP guest relations, or luxury travel.
• Familiarity with Bahamas aviation laws and private airstrip operations.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Aviation Management or related field preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and operational decision-making skills.
• Financial acumen and experience with budget oversight and forecasting.
• Must maintain discretion, a professional appearance, and grace under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and web-based tools.
• Valid driver’s license and Bahamian work authorization or willingness to relocate legally.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
• Variable weather and environmental conditions (jet fumes, dust, noise).
• Regular standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing; occasional climbing, lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Read, write, and fluently in English.
• Analyze technical documents and communicate findings to diverse audiences.
• Perform advanced arithmetic and interpret technical diagrams.
