TMZ is looking for a highly skilled Senior Camera Operator to help deliver the visual excellence that defines our productions. This role requires strong technical expertise in lighting and camera operation, and a collaborative approach to supporting both in-studio and field shoots. You'll play an essential role in executing the look and tone of our three in-house TV shows while assisting with additional creative projects.
Responsibilities
• Ability to shoot product, short and long form content, promotional support, social media/web content, and more.
• Exceptional knowledge of cameras, variable focal length and primes lenses, filters, lighting, matte boxes, dolly track, and Jibs (with ability to shoot in HD)
• Ability to shoot various and multiple frame rates in multiple recording digital formats.
• Be adept at shooting for 16:9, 4:3, 1:1 aspect ratio; 4k recording formats.
• Serve as a camera operator for field projects, studio projects and daily shows.
• Support the Director of Photography in all aspects of lighting design, setup, and execution.
• Collaborate with internal and freelance teams to plan and coordinate shoots.
• Configure, operate, and maintain camera and lighting equipment.
• Ensure consistent visual standards across all productions.
• Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently on set.
• Communicate production updates to EPs, Post, Broadcast, and Production teams.
• Maintain organized studio environments and equipment readiness.
Requirements
• 10+ years proven professional experience in television, film, or broadcast camera operation
• Advanced understanding of lighting design and technical production workflows
• Strong understanding of studio and field camera hardware and media formats
• Hands-on experience with cinema cameras, lenses, and lighting systems
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
