TMZ is seeking a Clearance Producer to join our team. The ideal candidate must have an exceptional understanding of intellectual property contracts and key provisions. The Clearance Producer will be responsible for sourcing, acquiring, negotiating, costing, and clearing rights on behalf of TMZ. This position requires someone who is adept at obtaining permissions for photo/video use on web and television platforms. This role requires the ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, work with a small team in identifying & procuring assets through deep archival search, as well as managing and prioritizing workflow according to our programming needs.
The Clearance Producer will interact daily with our Executive Producers, Clips & Clearances staff, Production/Accounting staff, our legal department, and others.
Responsibilities:
• Communicating with photo/video distribution companies to secure assets for production
• Oversee agency videos and offers to create content for web and television
• Hunting for relevant & applicable assets to fit the narrative of the project
• Contact third parties and news outlets to get permission or license photos/videos
• Develop contacts, cultivate sources, and maintain relationships to aid in securing future assets
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
• 3-5 years of progressive experience working in series or news television
• Ability to negotiate and execute licenses and other contracts
• Knowledge of celebrity news, pop culture & current events
• Strong telephone/communication skills

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $70,000.00-90,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
