We are currently seeking a Global Inventory Manager/Procurement Supervisor.
Job Purpose/Summary:
The Global Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing Inventory/Purchasing in a multi-location, international, distribution environment. This includes maintaining appropriate inventory levels through our inventory software SBT, forecasting, review of sales trends and demands, and supervision of Inventory Operatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Responsible for daily analysis and execution of the procurement process
-Ensure correct distribution of items throughout the TMB locations ensuring to use the most economical shipping methods appropriate
-Monitor and update key factors including supplier lead-time, minimum order quantities, reorder points and safety stock levels
-Supervise staff to ensure PO's are placed timely, and support functions are completed
-Communicate with Sales on lead times, stocking quantities, pricing or any other sales related query, providing excellent customer service to internal customers
-Approve and inspect product returns from customers
-Daily correspondence with domestic and international vendors
-Relationship building with customers and vendors
-Ensure all PO's are active and current, no expired PO dates
-Negotiate lead times and pricing while communicating through email and phone to multiple domestic and international vendors
-Answer daily interoffice emails delegating when possible
-Communicate with vendors as needed
-Manage, monitor and maintain TMB stock consigned at off-site premises
-Manage item classes and assign new products accordingly; create new item classes when necessary
-Perform BOM global item replacements
-Manage daily cycle counts, investigate discrepancies and adjust per procedure
-Investigate & adjust inventory discrepancies timely in SBT, per procedure
-Manage vendor returns timely
-Run weekly negative inventory report, investigate and fix errors
-Organize and ensure proper turnover of all product, focusing on SMI being reduced
-Update standard costs in SBT
-Responsible for UK and US Stockchange Meeting agendas and prompt update of Stockchange logs after the meetings
Supervision and Management of local/ remote Inventory Operatives as follows:
-Enter and place PO or WO with any/all vendors as needed to back up I/O
-Ensure no expired PO or WO exists. Counsel I/O as needed to obtain this standard
-Ensure that proper communication with company personnel regarding order re-dates is maintained/monitored
-Ensure daily over allocation reports are ran and I/O placing proper stocking PO
-Manage, inspect and sign off product returns from customers as needed
-Manage intercompany transfers
-Attend weekly meetings; contribute to overall success of department functionality
-Attend weekly sales meeting while bringing requests for stock change to help maintain and manage efficient and economical stocking levels based upon current sales trends
-Liaise with all inventory auditors
-Any duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
-Must have a degree in Inventory Management, Finance or Accounting. Or 5 years' experience in Inventory Management in lieu of degree
-5-10 years of experience working as an inventory planner/buyer/analyst in manufacturing or distribution setting preferred
-Previous experience in logistics, warehouse, or other related field
-Experience as a manager or supervisor
-Strong leadership qualities
-Strong attention to detail and ability to manage projects within required deadlines
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Proven ability to work highly effectively with senior leaders
-Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, HOT RUSH SERVICE NORMAL environment
-Must be a proactive, self-directed leader comfortable with making decisions swiftly
Preferred Skills:
Excellent analytical abilities. Ability to persevere through challenges. Strong attention to detail. Knowledge of SBT Inventory software system is a plus. Strong communication and leadership skills.
