Titmouse is looking for an IT Support Technician to join the IT team!
REPORTS TO:
The IT Support Technician will report to the VP of IT and the IT Manager.
GENERAL FUNCTION:
The IT Support Technician is responsible for addressing IT support-related requests from Titmouse staff, contractors and clients. Additionally, this position will keep accurate accounting of IT inventory and prepare IT equipment for studio use in a manner timely to each request. This is an in-studio position, full-time onsite in the New York City offices of Titmouse, Inc. There is a temporary ability to work from home around tasks that require being at the studio. The distinction for when it is appropriate to work from home or in the studio will be provided by the VP of IT or IT Manager on a case by case basis. A successful IT Support Technician will be punctual, answer support requests promptly (within 2 hours), keep studio colleagues up to date with progress and set proper expectations for task completion throughout the lifecycle of each request.
The IT Help Desk Technician's role is to ensure the streamlined operation of employee workstations, network equipment, file servers, and UPS.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.
-Begin each shift on time at the agreed upon location.
-Provide IT support for on-premises and remote studio staff while tracking progress via an IT ticketing system.
-Prepare computer systems for employees and general studio use.
-Install, maintain and troubleshoot 2D, 3D, Video and Administrative user workstations (primarily MacOS, Windows PCs and a smaller percentage of Linux devices)
-Install, license, configure, update, and software applications, and operating systems as necessary.
-Perform basic repairs of hardware (Macs, PCs, Wacom Cintiq's, etc.)
-Ensure and maintain that all network security protocols and policies are adhered to by all staff members and visitors.
-Follow IT procedure for studio and departmental inventory management for IT hardware, software and equipment
-Regularly communicate with department management, colleagues in the IT Department and the studio's end users regarding progress on assigned projects
-Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the VP of IT, IT Manager and studio's end users regarding pertinent IT activities
-Keep current with the latest technologies
-Maintain and update deployable system image strategy for quick configure, install and replacement of employee computer systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
-Familiarity with 2D and 3D design and animation applications:
-Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (including After Effects, Photoshop, Animate, Premiere, Media Encoder)
-Final Cut Pro
-ToonBoom Storyboard Pro & Harmony
-AutoDesk Maya 3D
-TV Paint
-Familiarity with MDM solutions, specifically Jamf for device preparation and maintenance
-Familiarity of Inventory solutions and programs (ex: SnipeIT)
-Familiarity with digital video editing equipment and concepts, including Mac editorial workstations
-Installation and licensing of plug-ins, extensions, and software utilities
-Color calibration of TV's and monitors
-Utilizing NAS for editorial file sharing and workflows
-Troubleshooting signal flow and connectivity issues
-Familiarity with Windows Active Directory and DNS servers
-Experience with file storage systems and Linux command line interface, network infrastructure and assessment of power requirements for both workstations and machine room hardware
-Utilization and deployment of FileMaker Server/Advanced/Pro
-Configuring and maintaining network firewalls, switches, and patch panels
-Experience setting up and maintaining video conference rooms
-Ability to troubleshoot and repair Apple hardware, as necessary
-Familiarity with and ability to troubleshoot MacOS and Windows operating systems
-Familiarity with basic networking fundamentals, imaging hard drives, and deploying VMWare images, and ability to install plug-ins
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and initiative
-Ability to evolve with a rapidly changing environment
-Positive helpful attitude when assisting others.
-Someone who is interested in learning new technologies, leads by example and contributes to a great work environment
-Always seeking solutions that help assist productions deliver in timely manner
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical requirements can vary, but in general the position requires the following physical activities: Ability to lift a minimum of 10 pounds to a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted; able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, lifting, and use full range of body motions: Duties can range from Computer Setups, Server preparation, Equipment moves, and cable management.
VISA REQUIREMENTS:
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States currently - Titmouse is unable to assist candidates in obtaining US work authorization.
Location
This is an in-house position at our New York City studio. Once fully acclimated, there is flexibility for a hybrid home and office working schedule at the discretion of the VP of IT.
