We currently have a need for a VFX Producer.
VFX Producer
The VFX Producer is responsible for overseeing nearly all aspects of a project from the early stages of the bidding process, throughout show production, and up to its successful completion. This is a high-level position within the studio that is both client and crew-facing, while partnering closely with the VFX Supervisor and studio senior management.
Responsibilities:
The below list describes the essential functions of this role, but other duties may be assigned, as necessary.
• Manage the completion of the entire project within studio standards, delivering on schedule and within the budget. Manage ongoing project re-bids as needed.
• Manage the project budget to meet the established profit goals. Report the progress of budget and schedule to the President and other senior managers (as assigned) via weekly status reports and bi-weekly cost reports. Continually track final project costs and delivery schedule.
• Work closely with the studio president and client during the initial bidding process, shot breakdown, and show planning steps.
• Work in conjunction with the Visual Effects Supervisor and client to execute the Director's vision.
• Maintain an excellent working relationship with client.
• Supervise Digital Production Manager(s) through creation of overall project schedule encompassing R&D, design and asset creation through final delivery of all computer generated effects shots.
• Work with senior manager(s), production manager(s), and studio manager(s) to staff the project, assign personnel to shots, and allocate resources.
• As directed by VFX Supervisor and CG Supervisor, work with senior management to schedule and assign resources to meet show-specific R&D goals.
• Ensure dailies and shot reviews run efficiently. Run weekly production meetings.
• Communicate notes from client meetings to VFX Supervisor and creative leads.
• Provides show-related supervision of Production staff including; work procedures and priorities, recruitment, performance evaluation, counseling and discipline.
• Attend studio management meetings to report on status of projects and participate in resolving studio issues.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in film, art, communications or related field with 5+ years' experience in production for a VFX feature film with experience managing a large crew (50+ employees).
• Strong knowledge of visual effects postproduction techniques and terminology.
• Must possess very strong organizational and communication skills and be able to handle a variety of tasks in an efficient manner while working within a deadline-driven environment.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess strong leadership skills and demonstrate the ability to calmly and effectively lead a crew, while negotiating tight deadlines and dealing with the pressures of producing a show.
• Must be able to productively interact with and influence people at all levels within the studio, as well as the client.
• Macintosh OSX experience necessary with proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Project.
• Must possess excellent ability to schedule and analyze production data.
• Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential material
