Tippett Studio is a unique, Academy Award winning, full service visual effects company that specializes in CG character animation for movies and television commercials.
We are currently seeking to fill our Layout & Match Move Supervisor position in our new Tippett Canada office in Toronto. This position is remote.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Proven 3D technical skills with industry experience in layout, match move or related fields
• Expertise in Maya or other industry standard 3D software
• Familiarity with Nuke, Clarisse, Renderman, Katana, Photoshop, and scripting is a plus
• Strong understanding of visual storytelling and cinematic techniques
• Strong problem solving ability and good organization skills for managing large volumes of digital data
• Ability to track and manage schedules and priorities, multi-task multiple projects and deadlines
• Familiarity with Shotgun, Google Suite and other project management tools is a plus
Layout Responsibilities:
• Responsible for executing all aspects of 3D layout and previs work in the studio
• Basic previs set and prop construction and character animation blocking for previs environments
• Integrating previs scenes into the final shot production pipeline
• Exchanging cameras and sets between layout, animation, environments, fx and comp departments
• Taking direction from VFX Supervisor and Art Director to address the client's artistic vision
• Work with R&D and Systems departments to maintain streamlined pipelines and debug technical issues
Match Move Responsibilities:
• Responsible for overseeing all match move work in the studio
• Review and QC vendor match move scenes and ingest into Tippett pipeline
• Address additional internal match move updates when necessary
• Provide occasional in-house match move shot work including cameras, constructing sets and props from reference, matching digital human standins
• Work with the assets, environments, animation, fx, and comp departments to ensure the proper integration of match move scenes
