Tinopolis is the parent company of Magical Elves and A. Smith & Co. Productions where skilled and motivated people focus on developing and producing quality reality television programming. Our productions include critically acclaimed television shows such as Top Chef, Nailed It! and American Ninja Warrior.
As Legal Affairs Coordinator, you will be responsible for working on legal matters surrounding the development and production of numerous television shows.
Job Responsibilities:
This attorney will be assisting with legal matters during the course of both development and production: including tracking deal option dates; negotiating and drafting shopping deals and development agreements, advising production on clearance matters; drafting and negotiating materials, location and appearance releases; negotiating and drafting crew deal memos, independent contractor and vendor agreements; advising production on guild and union requirements; overseeing the binding of insurance; preparing casting applications, contestant agreements and series rules, and evaluating rights/chain of title issues. You will be working with multiple production attorneys across several projects in various stages of development and production at the same time. You will interface regularly with the production attorneys and production executives for the Tinopolis shows in development and production, and will at times serve as the liaison between the production staff and the Network's legal department.
Qualifications:
• JD and California State Bar membership required
• Minimum 1 year of actual transactional legal experience, television production legal experience and/or business affairs experience
• The above includes actual hands on reality production experience at a television production company, Network, entertainment agency or comparable experience within an entertainment law firm
