The Walt Disney Studios encompasses the creation, production, promotion, sales, acquisition and domestic and international distribution of live-action and animated motion pictures, DVD releases, live stage plays, and music and soundtrack recordings.
We have openings in our Live Action Motion Picture Production and 20th Century Studios Physical Production teams. This person will interact with several departments (Finance, Legal, Creative, Post Production, VFX, Marketing, Franchise, Emerging Technology) in order to gain a broad understanding of Feature Film Production from the Studio Perspective.
A Day in the Life…
• Assist Production Executives and Coordinators on films in various stages of Development, Prep, Production, and Post Production
• Attend and help set up internal studio meetings and meetings with our productions
• Update and distribute weekly report tracking Below the Line contracts
• Special projects including updating crew tracking grids, pulling images, and distributing project wrap gifts
• Maintain digital files on department server and online database
• Track and Update Studio Contact Lists
• Read any and all available scripts in various stages of production
• Occasional work as a production assistant on an in-town film, if available
• General office support (answer phones, print/copy, checks/docs signed, basic tech support)
What we are looking for…
• Strong interest in working in Physical Production and desire to gain a deep understanding of film production
• Proven ability to take initiative while providing thorough support on multiple projects with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop relationships quickly
• Strong computer skills as projects may require spreadsheet, database and presentation skills
(Preferred Qualifications)
• Previous Production Assistant experience
• General understanding of film production and industry concepts and players, with an eagerness to learn
Required Education:
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months at time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program
• Current student or recent grad studying Film/Video Production, Communications, or related
Additional Details:
• All candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• This internship is a hybrid internship. Must be able to provide own housing and transportation for the duration of the program in the Burbank area. While working remote, the internship requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace.
• The approximate dates of this internship are January through June 2023.
• Candidate must be available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 9 AM - 6 PM PT.
