The Production Operations Training Manager leads planning and delivery of Safety and Environmental cast and crew training, onboarding, documentation of protocols and process for Studio productions. This highly visible position partners with Studio, Production leadership and Production Safety to develop, deliver and communicate timely training experiences and documents in adherence with best practices and regulatory requirements for The Walt Disney Studios' productions.
This role blends training development, learning design principles, change management, and strong communication skills. The successful candidate will be versed in film and television production, familiar with UK HSE regulations, contemporary methods of creating SOP's, training, and operational auditing, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and collaborate with stakeholders across global Learning & Development teams, productions, and the Studio.
Responsibilities:
• Drive creation of bold and innovative Safety and Environmental training programs and materials, with maintenance of key documents, including but not limited to production induction and protocols, operating guidelines, process mapping, training materials, update presentations to stakeholders, etc.
• Partner with Production Human Resources and Employee Relations, to ensure training aligns with overall crew engagement strategy
• Lead efforts to create and deliver creative, scalable and sustainable training programs and regular updates to a variety of stakeholders and audiences of all levels
• Enhance operational guides with a strong focus on communicating key changes and identifying essential information for efficient team distribution
• Collaborate with Disney Training community to share and leverage best practices, platforms and programs
• Partner with production to schedule and track weekly crew training and onboarding
• Provide technical support for online training via support email, phone and virtual platforms
• Prepare and manage training budgets
• Create operating guides and tools for internal teams, as well as film production teams
• Participate in audit of training materials and protocol adherence
• Partner Safety and Operations teams to develop and deliver KPI and audit of key show metrics and practices
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience designing and delivering training materials and experiences
• Understanding of adult learning theory and practices
• Experience with highly technical documentation and processes, including in depth knowledge of learning management systems for training delivery and tracking
• Understand learning measurements and delivery of KPIs
• Strong organizational skills, including project management and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal commination skills and able to communicate with and present to key production executives and TWDC stakeholders
• Experience working in either a corporate environment or production management role and comfortable communicating with all levels in both
• Leadership mindset and influence skills to drive change
• Flexible attitude and driven work ethic in an ever-changing and evolving landscape
• Preparedness to keep a production schedule when necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated use of innovative learning techniques, digital technologies, and/or tools to support training delivery
• Comfortable and willing to deliver training and communication virtually via Zoom and in-person
• Proficiency with Keynote and Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Desire to continue development of production industry knowledge
• Flexibility with schedule to connect with teams in various time zones
