The Manager, Production Operations is a UK based role covering the EMEA region, collaborating with physical productions across all banners of The Walt Disney Studios, including Disney, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures. The role will operationalise sustainability initiatives and facilitate alignment on production safety objectives across key internal (e.g., Studio production executives, production safety, crew experience, legal) and external (e.g., Film production office, safety teams, contractors and crew) partners.
The successful candidate will have experience in film and television production, be familiar with UK Health and Safety Executive guidance and standards, environmental sustainability programmes, training and operational auditing, and possess the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, working productively, consistently delivering within agreed timeframes.
Responsibilities:
• Partner with the Disney UK Production Safety Team to foster planning, alignment and implementation of consistent production safety programmes across the Disney Studios portfolio.
• Facilitate delivery, tracking and reporting of crew safety training and compliance.
• Partner with Disney legal teams to develop and deliver on safety compliance initiatives.
• Conduct comprehensive reviews and audits of environmental and safety programmes to assure compliance and consistency across all Studio productions.
• Perform quality and internal assurance controls, define and monitor production, training and accident key metrics.
• Facilitate communication of production activity and updates to key stakeholders within the Studio.
• Collaborate with the Disney UK Production Safety Team on defining and standardising collection of safety metrics and key performance indicators to Studio stakeholders.
• Foster strong working relationships with production managers, heads of department, contractors and daily crew.
• Stay current on new developments within UK film safety and the Studio, including guidance from medical and safety partners across The Walt Disney Company.
• Amplify the culture of safety and wellbeing across the global Studio production portfolio.
Essential:
• Experience within a film or television production environment
• Ability to assess and prioritise risk
• Creative and solution-oriented problem solver in a fast-paced environment
• People person who can communicate with confidence, manage conflict, operate with authority, and drive compliance within agreed standards
• Proactive work ethic with ability to adapt to varying work environments, autonomously and within a team
• Experience organising and managing a diverse range of tasks and projects
• Thrive in a dynamic and collaborative team environment
• Demonstrated ability to project-manage programmes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to communicate to crew and executives with experience presenting to all levels of internal and external staff
• Proficient user of Microsoft office software: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
Preferred:
• Qualification or equivalent experience in a technical discipline
• Leadership, process audit and safety experience
• Project management experience or qualifications
• Proficiency in Smartsheets a plus
• Desire to continue development of technical skills and industry knowledge
