As the Lighting Maintenance Technician, this role will support Disney Studios Australia (renamed from Fox Studios Australia), located in Moore Park. Disney Studios Australia is a world-class film & television studio facility designed and tailored for Disney motion picture productions as well as third party television and motion picture productions companies.

Occupying a 32-acre site and providing facilities of the highest industry standards, the studio features nine sound stages, several production offices, workshops, and hosts around 50 independent entertainment industry businesses. The history of the site provides an eclectic mix of new and old buildings, and manicured landscapes create proportion and space.

This position is responsible for supporting the Lighting team in the preparation of the lighting equipment for rental. This includes, testing and tagging equipment, equipment repairs, maintaining accurate service records for equipment, scanning items for dispatch and return, barcoding new inventory, and preparing paperwork for equipment hire. along with collaborating with staff in the rental preparation area.

Working in a studio environment means that we have special equipment which is quite complex. If you have experience working with equipment with multiple outlets, such as switchboards, your experience would be beneficial to this role. This role is also responsible for overall repairs across a breadth of aging and new technologies – someone with an inquisitive mind who likes to find the root of the issue and who enjoys learning and teaching themselves would enjoy the task.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
• Hold a current Electrician Licence
• Hold a forklift license
• Extensive experience in electrical repairs and servicing
• Extensive knowledge of all Lighting equipment products and services
• Have an appreciation of the lighting equipment and application
• Good understanding of WH&S knowledge and procedures
• Detailed knowledge of portable appliance test procedures as defined in AS / NZS 3760
• Be proactive in gaining insight into the maintenance of the lighting equipment
• Ability to build and maintain an effective team relationships
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to solve problems and initiate solutions
