Job Summary:
Overview:
This position will provide day-to-day administrative assistance to the Assistant Chief Counsel – Rights Management, and support the team with various administrative tasks. The Rights Management team is responsible for analyzing and maintaining rights in the Disney film libraries and analyzing distribution and other exploitation rights of Disney's new films in partnership with the legal production group.
Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities include:
• Draft/redline, proofread, attach exhibits, manage and arrange for execution and distribution of agreements, including use of document management database
• Draft, maintain and regularly update an assignment sheet for the Assistant Chief Counsel
• Provide regular timely updates to project status reports and follow-up with stakeholders as needed
• Prepare and proof letters and memoranda
• Manage a fast-paced, wide-ranging legal affairs desk
• Answer calls and take detailed notes
• Create files, binders and other office organization for development and production work
• Maintain electronic and physical files and general office organization
• Maintain calendar, schedule meetings and make travel arrangements
• Prepare and manage expense reports
• Provide back-up to other secretaries within the Legal Affairs team, as well as assist with other department administrative support responsibilities as needed
• Execute special projects as needed
Requirements:
• Minimum 1 year administrative support experience in a legal department
• Previous contract drafting and redlining experience
• PC knowledge - Microsoft Word and Outlook; also helpful: Excel, PowerPoint, Access, DocuSign
• Strong proofreading skills required
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and take accurate, fast notes
• Simultaneously handle multiple tasks with accuracy
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions and change course of action quickly
• Detail oriented with the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills
• Effective communicator, both verbal and written
• Positive attitude and the ability to be proactive, resourceful and flexible
• Strong people skills, with a focus on collaboration and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to take initiative and work with limited supervision
• Able to work overtime on an "as-needed" basis
Education:
• Required: High School degree
• Preferred: A.A. or Bachelor's degree
Preferences:
• Excel a plus
• B.A. or B.S. degree strongly preferred
