Associate Project Manager (Project Hire)
Job Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Project Manager (Project Hire) in Burbank, CA. Under the guidance of the Director, Studio Mastering, this role will partner with Title Producers and Managers to perform responsibilities supporting the creation of Studio Masters that are archived in Inventory for the entire company to use.
Responsibilities:
• Gain an understanding of each project's specific needs, review vendor bids and make a recommendation to the Title Producers/Managers, provide documentation to PCOE to support issue of Purchase Orders and Work Orders, track Overage requests, reconcile approved costs, receive, review/evaluate and process Invoices, and liaise with Finance to ensure Invoices are received and paid on time
• Monitor all milestone and partner/client due dates, update all schedules, issue alerts if a project is falling behind, report status throughout production
• Research historical data in online/archive paper files and multiple databases, analyze options and make recommendations
• Maintain Smartsheet tracking database and Maxwell entries on behalf of Title Producers
• Collaboration with Mastering Intern on title research and correct entry of title metadata files in inventory
• Review published milestone dates
• Liaise with department Title Producers/Managers/Supervisors and external post facilities to determine whether projects are on track
• Update all schedules and trackers including Smartsheet to ensure correct current status is reported to Stakeholders and Clients
• Issue alerts to Title Producers and/or facilities if a project appears to be falling behind schedule
• Ensure all assets created are entered into WMLS, confirming the data to ensure accuracy (EL ID #'s, version, runtime, aspect ratio, audio configuration, etc.)
• Review vendor bids, analyzing whether they meet all the requires of the given project, then provide a recommendation to the project's Title Producer/Manager
• Upon above Title Producer approval, work with PCOE to issue all required Purchase Orders or Work Orders
• Track vendor Overage requests and Title Producer approvals
• Review final vendor costs, compare to original bid and approved overages, provide a recommendation to the Title Producer
• Monitor vendor delivery of Invoices to ensure they are received in a timely manner
• Liaise with Disney Finance to ensure timely payment
• Perform research projects as assigned, then provide a recommendation
• Analyze project issues as assigned, build consensus for the best option, then provide a recommendation
• Digital / Paper Filing
Basic Qualifications:
• 2 - 3 years' experience:
• Studio Mastering and/or Post Production Facility with an emphasis on Digital Intermediate and Mastering and/or Broadcast Servicing
• Working knowledge of feature film post production process
• Management of digital workflows with a thorough understanding of current and developing technology
• An understanding of color grading in multiple color spaces and picture composition in multiple aspect ratios
• An understanding of Domestic and localized International Versions in multiple languages, and version control
• Strong Project Management and Reporting skills
• Management of dynamic content revisions and accurately tracking/reporting version control updates
• Self-managed priority setting in a highly dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3-5 years' experience at a Post Production Facility or Studio Mastering group
Required Education
• Associate's Degree - Film, Television, Electronic Media, Communications, or Related Field
