This is a Full Time Paid Internship
About the Role & Program: The Global Human Resources Operations (GHRO) Team manages the strategic development of human resources services and information to employees, managers, and HR partners throughout the Enterprise. In this role, you will be able to share helpful resources and explain available benefits to help our employees during their leave of absence.
What You Will Do...As a Leave Administration Intern, you will provide support to our employees across the Enterprise for leave of absence inquiry services and administration. Your outstanding communication and partnering skills will come into play as you interact with and help our global employees, as well as external medical providers! You will coordinate the Family Medical Leave process and draft confidential letters to our employees and leaders, all while ensuring our clients and partner's needs are met. You will also complete various transactions in our HR and time systems.
Required Qualifications and Skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience managing high volume phone calls and emails
• Highly proficient writing skills to professionally correspond with employees and medical providers
• Outstanding guest service skills, comfortable communicating with all levels of employees and leadership
• Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrable ability to effectively communicate with our internal key partners (Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Human Resource Business Partners, Health Services and Workers Compensation)
• Solid attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and follow through on multiple tasks
• Outstanding organizational skills, able to successfully track work and update information in our case management system
• Ability to handle confidential information, such as processing applications, filing, completing forms, and reviewing medical documentation
• Use knowledge/case management tools to address client issues and provide accurate information for our employees
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, more specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and One Note
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience with SAP, One Note and Workday
• Exposure to federal and state laws such as: Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), California Family Rights Act (CFRA) and Hawaii Family Leave Law (HFLL)
• Familiarity with Company and pay practices to each leave and leave type (e.g. personal, military, union)
Education
• Pursuing a degree (or recent graduate) in Human Resources, Human Resource Management, Employment Law, Hospitality, Business or other related field
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information: Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess unrestricted work authorization
• Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program
• The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 – January 2025.
• This internship is located in the Orlando, FL area.
• Candidate must be fully available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.
• This internship is a primarily on-site position which will require a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace.
• Able to provide your own housing and reliable transportation for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando, FL area
