Job Summary:
The Sr. Global Mobility Immigration Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for all immigration matters within a client group or segment, partnering with the Global Mobility Partner to ensure a seamless experience. The Sr. Global Mobility Immigration Specialist will be closely connected to their client groups, developing deep relationships to align immigration solutions with relevant business strategy. Specifically, the Sr. Global Mobility Immigration Specialist will collaborate with Global Mobility Partner and segment business partners to consult on immigration planning, strategies, and budgets, as well as develop creative solutions to immigration needs such as hiring, retention, job changes, organizational realignments, compensation assessments, reorganizations, and acquisitions. The Sr. Global Mobility Immigration Specialist will provide direction to stakeholders to ensure key factors are considered when sponsoring foreign national employees, such as business drivers, consistency, and appropriate level of spend. The Sr. Global Mobility Immigration Specialist will oversee the foreign national population within their client group/segment. The Sr. Global Mobility Immigration Specialist will partner with HR, Legal, and segment partners to onboard new hires and maintain lawful presence and work authorization in the United States. The Sr. Global Mobility Immigration Specialist will work will all partners to determine the most strategic courses of action for maintaining foreign nationals in the US and at TWDC beyond their work visa expirations.
Responsibilities:
• Actively engage in stakeholder meetings to build relationships, understand business priorities, and align solutions with business strategy.
• Advise business partners of available visa strategies. Provide direction to the business to ensure key factors are considered when sponsoring foreign national employees, such as business drivers, consistency, and appropriate level of spend. Where appropriate, identify challenges or barriers, and offer creative solutions.
• Educate business partners on U.S. work visa and/or legal permanent residence application requirements and processes with the goal of improving efficiency and level of service to clients. Assist in development and delivery of educational materials and training activities to allow the business segments to partner more effectively with Global Mobility and Disney Legal on immigration matters.
• Serve as primary point of contact for foreign national employees and their families. Explain U.S. work visa and/or legal permanent residence application requirements and processes. Project Manage each matter in line with the specific needs of the business unit and employee, leveraging immigration subject matter specialization as well as network of contacts (vendors, Tax, Attorneys, Benefits) to address unique concerns or challenges.
• Oversee each immigration matter within assigned client group/segment, ensuring all process issues are addressed, and that the employee has a positive experience. Oversee preparation of visa and green card files. Perform preliminary review of visa files to ensure documents are complete, align with each other and are accurate. Provide ongoing case status and key deadlines to all partners as appropriate.
• Partner with Sr. Manager, Consultation & Delivery, Sr. Manager, GM US Immigration, and other Global Mobility Partners to coach and develop more junior team members.
• Allocate work to Immigration Specialists to move files along, and raise concerns to Sr. Manager, GM US Immigration when complications arise.
Basic Qualifications:
• 5 years of experience in immigration/global mobility or related
• Understanding of business immigration processes
• Experience managing immigration needs for a large and complex foreign national population
• Demonstrated analytical abilities to identify potential legal and compliance issues.
• Creative problem solving skills
• Strong skills in MS Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to prioritize work and work in a team setting.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced/high volume environment.
• Highly responsive and client focused
Preferred Qualifications:
• 7 years of experience in immigration/global mobility or related
• GMS, CRP, PHR or SPHR
