This Project Hire Sr Communications Manager – Technology Delivery Execution role will be responsible for the development, creation, delivery, and execution of an overall communication strategy supporting Enterprise & Segment Technology, Finance, & HR teams as our group fulfills an SAP S/4HANA Conversion project. This position will work directly with leadership and Enterprise Change Lead groups, at every stage of communication for the SAP Conversion project, collaborating with subject matter experts to develop effective communication content for the targeted audience and also working closely with communicators throughout Disney to ensure strategy alignment and standard methodologies. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer and strategic communicator who is able to quickly establish relationships, draft content and plans, and implement with various partners throughout Disney.
This is a Project Hire Position, with a target end date of September 2025.
Responsibilities:
• Craft and implement critical communications for the SAP project that are comprehensive, clear, and contribute to a seamless system conversion for all involved
• Build and draft both written and visual content materials as part of the communication efforts and work with multiple partners and leaders for needed approvals
• Coordinate and potentially directly lead a network of communications partners, (both internally and externally with vendors) to develop and implement communications plans at-scale
• Work with key partners (potentially including internal communication executives as needed), to develop messages, narrative, and positioning to build awareness and understanding of landmarks, policies, and impacts related to the initiative for leaders and employees
• Collaborate and support project teams with ad hoc communication needs
• Partner with the Employee Communications and Engagement team to ensure all communications are in sync with Disney communications and priorities
• Work closely with the project team to track, analyze and report progress and status to the program leadership
• Assist with other special projects as assigned
Needed Qualifications
• 5+ years experience in communications, public relations, executive communications, or project management
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with maturity and confidence in working with colleagues at all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated ability in leading large scale communication strategies and projects
• Self-motivated, natural leader who can manage team members and workloads to meet timelines in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment
• Ability to translate complex concepts and ideas into concise and engaging content for numerous audiences and voices
• Excellent grammar skills and experience with copy editing along with an eye for design
• Well organized and trustworthy with a high level of discretion
• Proficient in Word, PowerPoint/Keynote, Excel, Outlook, and other technology solutions for communication needs
• BA or BS within Communications, Journalism, English, Public Affairs, or related; or relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in both internal and external communications as well as project management
• Knowledge of design software/s (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
• Knowledge or basic understanding of SAP S/4HANA
• Ability to articulate sophisticated verbiage of interfaces and systems in an easy-to-understand way
