The Senior Analyst, Retirement Programs is responsible for day-to-day management of the Company's Qualified and Non-Qualified Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Plans. The position is responsible for providing project management and technical oversight for our (Q and NQ) Pension Plans for Salaried and Hourly employees, our (Q and NQ) 401(k) Plans for Salaried and Hourly employees, the (Q and NQ) Disney Retirement Savings Plan, the BAMTech 401(k) Plan, the Disney and ABC Post-Retirement Medical Plans, and all future acquisition retirement plans. This position is a subject matter expert (SME) regarding these Plans. The position may manage internal and external systems and resources (payroll, HRIS, Vendor systems and processes) to achieve program objectives. This position leads the implementation of very technically complex vendor systems changes caused by plan mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, plan design changes, etc.
Responsibilities:
• Leads the management of day-to-day operations of the Company's Qualified and Nonqualified Retirement Plans. Supports the operations of international plans, including DCL.
• Assists the Senior Manager of Retirement Plans in the management of retirement plan operations. Responds to inquiries from external vendors regarding Defined Benefit and Contribution Plan administration and interpretation, participant issues and requests (requiring subject matter expertise and/or historical knowledge of administrative practices), or industry best practices. Directly manages outsourced administrator to implement Plan changes (including those caused by changes to federal, state or local regulations), Company match, investment funds, other Plan features, etc. Assists the Senior Manager of Retirement Program Operations by making recommendations regarding process improvements, design simplifications, communication enhancements, etc. Looks for opportunities, from a plan administration perspective, to integrate retirement plan services and programs with other retirement and health & wellness programs.
• Ensures that our retirement plans are administered efficiently and effectively.
• Conduct detailed historical record research and commensurate data reconciliation encompassing all data systems and records.
• Resolves Retirement Program Technically difficult operational issues (defined by limited or transparent participant impact, issues surrounding data sharing between outsourced administrators and/or vendors), and issues resulting from incomplete, inconsistent or inaccurate employee data records across multiple systems. Researches program requirements, plan documents and/or contracts. Definitive data reconciliation between internal records systems' data and external or outsourced systems' data. Identifies best practices. Reviews vendor expectations/capabilities. Seeks direction from leadership and functional SMEs when conflicts arise. Recommends most efficient/effective solutions.
• Ensures that employees/cast and their families have an exceptional service experience.
• Represent and advocate for the interests of the retirement programs on new and existing projects.
• Serves as a representative for the enterprise benefits group on internal and external cross functional projects that require Retirement Program and related subject matter expertise.
• Ensures that project decisions which may touch the retirement programs consider the impacts and/or limitations of the retirement programs and that these projects are aware of departmental objectives.
• Support annual ERISA audits, Sarbanes Oxley control reviews, compliance filings, DOL/IRS notices, and other compliance communication activities.
• Perform necessary information gathering, analysis, synthesis, and reporting to ensure compliance with local, state and federal benefits regulations. Partner with other functional subject matter experts (SMEs) (payroll, legal, HRIS, administrators, etc.) to respond to regulatory and legal requests.
• Ensures Federal, state and local regulatory compliance.
Basic Qualifications:
• 5 – 7 years Retirement Plan Retirement administration.
• Demonstrated success collaborating on large teams.
• Ability to matrix manage across multiple geographical locations and functions
• Expert level experience and skill in program and project management including hands-on experience in resource planning and scheduling, and planning and managing tasks
• Working knowledge of Retirement Plan administration required.
• Experience in the implementation of benefit administration systems and processes.
• Strong leadership and team building skills required
• Highly organized and able to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Results/action oriented
• Strong facilitation and influencing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Detailed knowledge of federal regulations regarding Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Plans.
• Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation or equivalent.
• Experience in managing through significant organizational change, including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources, database administration, Accounting or related field.
