The Walt Disney Company is scouring the known talent universe to find security engineers desiring to join our Studios Cyber Team! We are partners in protecting Disney's highly respected portfolio including Marvel Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Lucasfilm, Disney Live Action Films, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Searchlight Pictures, and 20th Century Studios.
The Senior Security Engineer will serve as a member of the Studio Cybersecurity team. Their primary responsibility will be developing tactics to detect and respond to security events within the Disney Studios environment.
What You Will Do
• Extract vulnerabilities, alerts, and exceptions from various security tooling (i.e. Qualys, wiz.io, Crowdstrike, etc.) and creating dashboards and heat maps by Studio BU.
• The role will perform threat hunting and aid in identifying systemic issues/findings to raise to security specialists to work with engineers for remediation.
• Aid in development of internal documentation, runbooks, and risk reports.
• Experience with writing documentation, including formal reports and briefings, for internal and external partners.
• Ability to assess and prioritize vulnerabilities based on their risk to the organization.
• Use a variety of approved security tools and technologies to analyze potential threats to determine impact, scope, remediation, and recovery of the threats.
• Analyze potential cyber threats from multiple intakes and take appropriate actions to include threat containment and/or escalation by following pre-established run books and processes.
• Follow issues and handoff procedures to team members and leadership based on Studio Cyber team defined threat and priority determination.
• Document comprehensive, detailed results of security incidents (post-mortem).
• Perform data administration, scripting, tuning, and automation to and from an implemented tools (i.e. Crowdstrike, Qualys, Splunk, Tanium, Etc.) with respect to collection and response of security relevant events/alerts and actions required.
• Establishing monitoring, incident response, forensic investigations and providing proactive support for any identified threats.
• Consult on general cybersecurity concerns and awareness support from customers.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• 5+ years of experience working in a security operations capacity
• Skills and knowledge with:
• SIEM technologies (i.e. Splunk)
• Cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Intrusion Detection / Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS)
• Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
• Network Firewalls (Cisco / Palo Alto)
• Endpoint Protection (NGAV/EDR)
• Security Orchestration / Automation Tools (SOAR)
• A solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, concepts, and best practices, in both on-prem and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with on-prem and cloud-based VM assessment tools like Qualys and Wiz.io.
• Familiarity with EDR solutions such as Crowdstrike
• Proficient in collaborating in JIRA, WIKI, slack, gSuite

• Experience in entertainment industry
Education
• Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent work experience
This is an estimated 30-month duration Project Hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement.

The hiring range for this remote position is $107,256 to $165,440 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
