Job Summary:
Lead with us as the Senior Manager Global Licensing Softlines at The Walt Disney Company. This role delivers the magic of Disney to consumers through the outstanding combination of demographic insight and quality product, offering innovation and fun whilst we further endorse the trust of the Disney brand in a global environment. Contribute to the development and execution of the Global long-term and fiscal year category strategy to improve sales of licensed products with the individual regions and markets. The role covers all consumer demographics, all Disney/Marvel/Lucas franchises and requires expertise in fashion apparel, footwear and accessories consumer product categories.
This role reports to the Licensing Sales Director.
This is a full time role.
What You Will Do:
• In line with the global strategy, develop, set and implement strategies for softlines in conjunction with relevant partners including plans for new business for each sub-category and franchise
• Lead the annual operating plan and quarterly forecasting process, developing licensee objectives and initiatives to drive growth, working with franchise, marketing, product development and finance
• Actively lead and cultivate the relationship engagement, partnership and joint business planning as appropriate with each licensee, new and existing
• Conduct or be involved in contract negotiations with licensees and distributors as appropriate to improve Disney royalty revenue and appropriately inform all key partners with the relevant information (global, regional and local as required)
• Communicate the International Labor Standards (ILS) process and be the conduit between the supplier and internal ILS team
• Identify, pitch and secure new licensees that improve the category growth in a substantial manner
• Collaborate and develop positive relationships with Disney market teams providing information and regular strategy and category updates as well as understanding and satisfying local market needs and differences. Utilize these relationships to share best practice
Required Qualifications and Skills:
• 5+ years of related experience
• Experience within consumer products management
• Apparel experience is important. Strong product development experience and keen sense of fashion/trend in the marketplace
• Validated experience of forming effective relationships, leading and managing change and collaboration across departments to achieve financial targets and joint goals
• Strong understanding of brand positioning, retail business development function, retail distribution and the retail environment for Apparel, Accessories, and Footwear business
• Strong communication/presentation, influencing skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments
• Comprehensive knowledge of licensees' product categories, production and creative capabilities/limitations
• Self-starter, motivated, proactive, dependable, flexible, strong team building skills
Preferred qualifications:
• Proven knowledge of the fashion industry, established and emerging trends and brands within sports and street wear
• A background in fashion buying and product development, merchandising or commercial fashion sales
Education:
• Bachelor's degree level education in a related field or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA, is $123,000 to $165,000 per year and in New York, NY, is $128,904 to $172,920 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
