Physical Assets Supervisor - UK
Summary:
Lucasfilm is seeking a professional, collaborative, and organized individual to supervise in maintaining the Lucasfilm physical asset management policies and procedures as well as support the efficient running of the Lucasfilm Physical Assets department from our UK base. Reporting to the Physical Assets Manager, the Supervisor will ensure department-wide consistency of the policies and procedures for Lucasfilm's physical assets, contribute to the evolving standards of asset tracking for productions, develop comprehensive knowledge of physical asset practices, and direct logistics for promotional partner commercial shoots and other specialty events in the United Kingdom and Europe.
Responsibilities:
• Collaboratively works with the US Physical Assets Manager to provide guidance to the Lucasfilm Physical Assets policy to feature film and series productions in the UK
• Supervises UK-based production physical asset coordinators with the financial tracking of physical assets for UK-based feature film and series
• Presents technical instruction and helps troubleshoot issues with online tracking software to physical asset coordinators and various departments within each feature film and series
• Oversees physical asset wrap efforts onsite at asset storage facilities with production physical asset coordinators
• Produces location and financial research plans for future physical asset storage facilities
• Supervises asset storage facility operations and international asset shipping for exhibition and archival purposes to the US, as needed
• Works with the Physical Assets Manager to develop financial estimates for the use of Lucasfilm production costumes and props for Lucasfilm, Disney, Licensee and Lucasfilm promotional partner events, as well as live action and still photography shoots in the United Kingdom and Europe
• Supervises UK-based commercial and still photography shoots as well as events as a designated company representative, ensuring that all physical assets are cared for and retained according to Lucasfilm policies and procedures
• Deals with production demands for physical assets on a regular basis and updates documentation relating to policies and workflows
Requirements:
• Experience supervising the use of physical assets with an understanding of the pace and production process of feature film and series production
• Strong intrapersonal skills and willingness to provide feedback, both constructive and positive, to junior positions, such as physical asset coordinators
• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines while identifying day-to-day priorities in conjunction with each production
• High level of integrity in handling proprietary and confidential information; promotes confidence with other employees in handling of sensitive data
• Ability to work calmly, under pressure, and with a variety of teams, including the Lucasfilm team, Disney teams, production companies, performers, and members of the Star Wars fan community
• Must have a valid passport and driver's license and be willing to travel
• Knowledge of Star Wars costumes, characters, creatures, and vehicles useful, but not required
