Manager, Marketing, Cinema Partnerships (1-Year Contract)
Job Summary:
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Canada (WDSMPC) has a Toronto-based Marketing group as part of WDSMP Canada. This opportunity will involve establishing a heightened film marketing and brand presence for Disney's roster of films including theatrical, home entertainment and Disney releases, from the Disney family of brands: Walt Disney, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Marvel and 20th Century Studio titles within Canada. We are seeking a Marketing Manager who can maximize our reach through cinema partnership marketing while collaborating effectively with U.S.-based functional groups.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and lead the day to day aspects of the cinema partnership marketing strategy for Canada
• Secure and develop film content-play opportunities for exhibition community as well as internal usage (Examples: pre-show content spots, social videos and website content)
• Secure incremental marketing opportunities within the exhibition environment to maximize a film's marketing reach including concession, box-office, group sales, media and gift card promotions.
• Manage all elements of trailer placement strategy, targeting and supervise execution
• Lead strategy and planning for in-theatre POS materials and appropriate targeting to ensure maximum exposure for Disney films.
• Perform on-site theatre checks to maximize the position and exposure of the films' marketing materials.
• Develop French Canadian in-theatre materials including translation development and securing support from the international team.
• Liaise with distribution, publicity, national promotions and media marketing teams to ensure complete Canadian market coverage across a total marketing landscape.
• Manage and/or support special marketing projects as directed.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 7 years of marketing and promotions experience, preferably within entertainment industry in Canada.
• Established relationships with Canadian exhibition is a significant plus.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with both local and remote stakeholders.
• Demonstrated knowledge and enthusiasm for film, the entertainment industry, the arts and pop culture in general
• Enthusiastic, hard working with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote
Required Education
• Undergraduate degree in marketing or equivalent
