This is a Full Time Job
As a Financial Accounting Analyst in Disney Entertainment (DE), you will help shape Disney's future in the company's newest and most dynamic segment. DE brings together the Company's best-in-class product, technology, and commercialization teams into one global organization. DE is responsible for the P&L management and all distribution, network and engineering operations, sales, advertising, data, and certain key technology functions worldwide for the Company's content engines. DE also manages operations of the Company's streaming services including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Disney+ Hotstar; and domestic broadcast and cable television networks.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with the quarterly close process including P&L allocations and analysis, Corporate reporting schedules, producer group reporting, government reporting, balance sheet reporting
• Process contract financial data into licensing system
• Process revenue recognition activity in licensing system
• Reconcile revenue recognition activity in Front of House (FOH) licensing system to GL
• Analyze contract information for errors and run reports for management
• Research sales and financial questions for senior management and sales offices
• Compile supporting contract documents and research for external and internal audits
• Prepare journal entry postings and account analysis
• Prepare monthly Balance Sheet foreign exchange revaluation journal entries
• Manage revenue recognition for retransmission royalties related to television broadcasting received from worldwide collection societies
• Maintain inventory, participation, & residual roll forwards for international content licensing
• Liaise with int'l shared accounting, legal, and finance teams
• Leverage systems to drive efficiencies on deliverables
• Work on special projects as needed
• CPA in progress strongly preferred
Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounting and/or financial reporting
• Microsoft office suite with strong Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, basic IF formulas, etc.)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Must be an excellent team player who possesses strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to plan and prioritize tasks to effectively manage time
• Demonstrate strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Self-driven, takes initiative
• Exhibit a willingness to be adaptable and flexible
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
The hiring range for this position in California is $73,100.00 to $89,300.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
