Job Summary:
About the Role & Team
Accountable for the commercial development and revenue growth of the Marvel brand and consumer product categories across the world. Enabling the regions and countries to translate the global strategy into integrated regional commercial growth brand plans. Operating collaboratively, at pace and driving a culture and eco system of seamless global and regional interaction.
This role is a key appointment within the global Marvel brand commercialization team and will be reporting to the global VP of Marvel brand commercialization, the candidate will work with the global category leaders and their teams to influence and create insight led category strategies across hardlines, softlines, consumables executed within multiple retail channels to grow the Marvel brand as well as working with the regions to execute the optimal Marvel plan to drive growth.
The director will identify white space opportunities by consumer, category, region, country and channel for the Marvel brand. Leveraging insights, consumer trends and analysis, working with global category partners, regional and country teams to lead the business development opportunities for the Marvel licensing business.
What You Will Do
• Collaborates with global category leaders to cultivate global strategic licensee / DTR partnerships tied to the development and optimized distribution of audience and brand relevant products. Drives partner DE&I strategy.
• Ensures rigorous strategic analysis of the Marvel brand, at category, sub category, brand and franchise levels. Working with regions and countries to identify white space and growth opportunities for Marvel, leveraging consumer and marketplace insight and financial analysis to support the creation of a forward thinking prioritized five year strategy and annual business plan, supporting the global strategy.
• Instills a honed and disciplined focus on tracking brand health. Identifying issues and deploying course correcting local commercial strategies, that ladder back to the Global brand priorities.
• Leverages global regional and local consumer insight, analytics and financial analysis to drive long term category and brand growth for Marvel.
• Ensures detailed franchise analysis through, consumer segmentation, category), country and retail (including DTCR) channel filters to identify brand and franchise white space opportunities that will create revenue growth.
• Collaborates with Global Category Governance to unlock growth from strategic Global partners - fully leveraging Global Category insights to develop category growth strategies.
• Works collaboratively with product development teams and global licensee partners through the global category teams to develop insight led products that incrementally grow the Marvel business.
• Leads the alignment process with Global product creation teams to ensure brand creative asset availability can deliver against commercial needs.
• Agrees, aligns, tracks and reviews and if necessary supports the course correction of global, regional and country plans to ensure commercial objectives and brand KPI's are delivered.
Required Qualifications and Skills
• 10-15 years experience, demonstrating solid knowledge of licensing, consumer brand management, and retail channel development
• Highly skilled and honed strategic thought leadership
• Proven experience in operationalizing a category, retail or brand strategy
• Highly effective relationship management and high impact communication skills
• Agile and responsive – can thrive in ambiguous business situations
• Demonstrates through action clear leadership and commitments to DE&I
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior executive level leadership experience

Global travel will be required at times to support regional development of category and brand
The hiring range for this position is $197,640 - $241,560 in Glendale, CA and $188,190 - $230,010 in Orlando, FL. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
