Privacy Legal Counsel | Disney Experiences Segment
As a member of Disney's Privacy Legal Team, you will provide privacy-related legal advice across Disney’s global enterprise, with a focus on Disney Experiences, which encompasses theme parks, resorts, and consumer products. You will work closely with legal colleagues, business stakeholders, and other partners to help shape Disney’s data governance policies and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Advise on legal and business initiatives related to privacy compliance, policy, and process
• Establish and enforce data governance policies
• Collaborate with legal and business colleagues throughout the enterprise
• Prepare data protection impact assessments and compliance documentation
• Draft and negotiate contract terms on data privacy issues
• Support enterprise-wide and targeted training initiatives
• Stay updated on developments in data privacy laws and best practices
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a corporate legal department, law firm, or government agency advising on data privacy issues
• Strong knowledge of privacy laws, including CCPA, GDPR, COPPA, and international regulations
• Excellent judgment, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Strong drafting, negotiating, and communication abilities
• Ability to handle high volumes of work and prioritize appropriately
Education:
• JD or equivalent from an accredited law school
• Membership in the California State Bar or qualification for Registered In-House Counsel
Compensation:
Salary range: $169,500 - $219,200 per year (California-based). A bonus and long-term incentive units may also be offered, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
