Job Summary:
Acquisitions Coordinator
Recognizing the unique and enduring creative legacy started by Walt Disney, the Walt Disney Archives was established in 1970 to collect, preserve and make available for research the historical materials relating to Walt and the company he founded.
As the Walt Disney Archives grows and expands its services, collections, programs, and outreach, to both internal and external clients and employees companywide, the department is seeking an enthusiastic, forward-thinking, motivated professional eager to join their team.
This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Acquisitions
Responsibilities:
• Perform vital support for all incoming and backlogged acquisitions
• Help track and coordinate shipping logistics for new acquisitions
• Support preliminary evaluations and help place initial valuations on incoming acquisitions
• Support in database records creation and documentation using collections management software
• coordinate periodic inventory checks for the Collections department
• Assist with pulling and returning assets for usage
• Assisting in scheduling movers, disposal services, and work crews and interacting with internal and external groups as needed
• Help with completing condition reports and local installs and deinstalls as needed
• Support mass object movement projects
• Act as contact point for ordering archival and office supplies
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least 1 year of work experience with dimensional collections. Previous experience with collections management software preferred.
• Experience handling art, documents, and dimensional assets in accordance with archival best practices.
• Familiarity with collections management software.
• Familiarity with film and television industries and knowledge of the history of the Walt Disney Company, and its associated brands and affiliates, both past and present.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to multitask and problem-solve.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with a team.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science
The hiring range for this position in North Hollywood, CA is $53,300 - $71,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
