Job Summary:
We are looking for a learning and development professional to join the Walt Disney Company on a permanent basis in the Hammersmith head office. This role will provide full training and development support to the Organisation and Talent Solutions Department for both EMEA and the UK, assisting individual contributors and management teams to enhance their skills and knowledge to enable the company to meet its business objectives.
In addition, they will provide Organizational Development (OD) / Effectiveness (OE) support for both EMEA and the UK to the HR community and to management teams across the region.
About the role:
• Proposes training and development strategies for all levels, following discussions with Management and L&D / HR stakeholders to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees and management teams to enable them to increase their effective contribution to the business. Concrete examples of this are D Achieve (performance management philosophy) / Quality Conversations solutions, Orientation/On-boarding at local vs regional level.
• Designs, organises and delivers on-going training and development solutions including competency based training in line with:
the requirements of the regional and local L&D community, HR business partners, Managers;
the requirements of the heads of different departments; and
the overall company strategy and guidance.
Concrete examples of this are Disney Leadership Essentials (DLE) (3-4x per year) which the individual co-facilitates for EMEA, including pre and post course tasks; Advancing Your Leadership (Senior Managers) and our EMEA Director Program.
• Individual facilitates D Achieve / Quality Conversations sessions for EMEA; in-person and virtual facilitation. Individual also facilitates upon request modules such as D&I, orientation etc.
• Individual supports & facilitates orientation for EMEA for FY20; working with the segments and local markets to implement a consistent strategy to orient employees to the business; high priority for FY19 – FY21.
• Designs and co-delivers digital solutions for a blended learning approach for development needs. Supports virtual learning environment across EMEA markets and brings ideas for creating initiatives that can be digitally delivered.
• Supports Management / HR / L&D Teams in areas of employee development, including the diagnosis of issues and the use of appropriate coaching / training interventions.
• Plans, organises and communicates all aspects of training programmes and courses; identifies appropriate communication strategies for key stakeholder groups.
• Supports HR survey implementation strategy
• Takes ownership of D Learn (LMS) for EMEA, and closely support the LMS integration for FY20.
• Controls costs tightly within agreed budgets for the courses assigned to the individual; records and communicates actual spend versus budget to line manager. Liaises with finance to cross-charge fees to relevant cost centres and as such work budget neutral.
• Liaises with other L&D partners to ensure development of depth management capability, consistency of approach and to leverage common centre of excellence (US) training material.
• Supports the L&D team(s) to ensure all training programmes are updated and adapted for each EMEA market.
• Liaises with external training providers to source new courses/develop previous courses.
• Works with line manager(s) to analyse training needs based on Talent and Succession Planning reports to plan the training curriculum.
• Manage the process of sending and collating employee surveys on a regular basis. Provide analysis on employee survey data and supporting EMEA HR for survey reports and action planning.
• Work with and have exposure to very senior stakeholders as part of his/her tactical L&D and OD responsibility.
Experience & Qualification required
• CIPD qualification or related academic qualification.
• Experience of US and EMEA parent, matrix organisation, would be beneficial.
• Relevant experience in an L&D or OD/OE heavy role.
• Experience in a corporate environment is a must.
• Proven experience in training and development: identifying training needs and providing solutions in a fast paced service orientated environment.
