ROLE OVERVIEW:
The SpringHill Company is seeking a dynamic Communications Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment to develop and execute publicity strategies for a growing communications team. The successful candidate will help manage the day-to-day communications efforts across The SpringHill Company, for TSHC's brands, UNINTERRUPTED and SpringHill, its studio division which includes Originals, Unscripted, Audio, Feature Films, and Scripted TV projects, and for The Robot Company, the consultancy arm of the business. This role will also support the communications efforts for our Commerce and Brand Partnerships teams. At their core, the ideal candidate is a strategist, storyteller, and self-starter with a proven track record in developing and executing strategic, compelling communications initiatives to meet business goals and objectives. This position requires strong writing skills, deep media relationships, and the ability to pitch and secure stories within consumer, trade, and entertainment press.
REPORTS TO:
Senior Manager, Communications
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Partner closely with internal cross-functional teams and external partners, on the development and execution of communications solutions based on evolving business needs
• Design and implement both long lead and quick strike communications strategies resulting in frequent positive press attention for TSHC projects
• Lead pitching efforts with the national and local press for projects and special events
• Manage team press lists, with a strong focus on proactively developing new media contacts and cultivating existing media relationships
• Manage press experience for screenings, set visits, special events, premieres, stunts, promotions, conventions, trade shows, photo shoots, and press junkets
• Lead the Comms goals of the commerce team by developing strategies, messaging, and positioning to drive media awareness
• Assist with internal and corporate communications, including but not limited to reviewing speaker requests, submitting for industry awards and lists, writing company memos, etc.
• Day-to-day efforts across projects could include developing written materials (pitches, press releases, talking points), booking and staffing interviews, drafting quotes, reviewing media inquiries, etc.
• Travel, when required, to support on-the-ground TSHC communications needs
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 4-5 years of relevant experience within a studio, network, agency, or publicity firm
• Proven track record in developing and successfully executing communications strategies to secure earned media
• Strong ability to multitask, leading and delivering on a high volume of complex projects against quick deadlines
• Goal-oriented, strategic, and creative self-starter with a hands-on approach to driving and obtaining results based on business needs
• Detail-oriented communication and presentation skills (both written and oral)
• Deep media contacts that span industries and platforms, including sports, entertainment, and consumer press
• Passion for all things sports and entertainment culture
• Awards experience is a plus
$85,000 - $100,000 a year
