The Slate. Casting Associate & Digital Development Internship Program:
The Slate., a digital storytelling and casting company, is accepting creative interns seeking to strengthen their knowledge and gain expertise in: casting, casting direction, development of digital projects, video and film production, online community management, and some basic studio operations (online). We are looking for an individual who thrives in creative thinking and is passionate about learning the 'behind-the-scenes' and the big picture of a studio, and more importantly an individual who is genuinely interested in becoming a casting associate. You'll be working with a team of established writers, directors, producers, and actors.
THIS IS A REMOTE (ONLINE) INTERNSHIP POSITION (4-6 months)
Responsibilities:
- Working with filmmakers, casting directors, actors in our network
- Assist with online castings sessions
- Assist with general entertainment research, and development of upcoming digital projects
- Assist in monitoring in-house casting sessions
- Organize and maintain online video assets, general media management
- Assist casting directors/filmmakers with prepping tapes for reviewing
- Assist with basic video uploads workflow and prep videos for finishing onto website
- Perform basic administrative duties and day-to-day tasks
- Work with internal creative staff on updating upcoming casting events and projects
- Assist with special in-house studio projects and online events
- Ability to work various shifts and hours on weekday (and weekends if needed)
- Minimum 15-20 hours/week maximum (can be 1-2 days per week, or split into shorter shifts throughout the week on multiple days)
- Flexible schedule to work various shifts and hours throughout the week between Monday-Friday 9am-6pm (open to weekends as well if your schedule requires)
Background / Skills:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Associate's degree program focused on communications, film studies, Film/TV production, digital media technology, or related major is a plus (but not required)
- Recent graduate or about to graduate is a plus (but not required)
- Previous entertainment internship or work experience is a plus
- Entrepreneurial spirit and can-do attitude
- Friendly personality and sociable
- Must love being in the casting side of the business and connecting with talent and creatives
- Strong interest in entertainment industry
- Should have casting experience on previous projects
- Genuine interest in casting and becoming a Casting Associate/Director
- Ability to work in team environment and independently
- Strong organizational skills, with high attention to detail
- Independent thinker and self-starter
- Creative thinker with strong development skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Solid writing and communication skills
- Computer Savvy, comfortable working with MAC or PC
- Must be able to work on your own laptop
