We are seeking a Senior Social Media Manager, Strategy & Client Partnerships to lead innovative social campaigns while helping expand our client partnerships across entertainment, streaming, and culturally driven brands.
This role is ideal for a social strategist ready to take the next step in their career, someone deeply immersed in digital culture who can lead standout campaigns while building on their strong industry relationships that open the door to new opportunities for the agency.
The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist, ideator, creative collaborator, and relationship builder, bringing an emerging network of industry connections and a demonstrated ability to help generate new client opportunities through their professional relationships.
Responsibilities
Client Development & Partnerships
• Use existing industry relationships to generate new client opportunities
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with studios, streamers, brands, and marketing partners
• Own and grow key client relationships, serving as a lead strategic partner across social campaigns and ongoing initiatives
• Collaborate with agency leadership and lead new business conversations, pitches, and social growth opportunities
• Represent The Refinery in client meetings, creative presentations, and industry events
• Proactively identify opportunities where social strategy can expand existing client business
Social Strategy & Campaign Leadership
• Lead social media strategy and campaign development across platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms
• Develop culturally relevant social concepts that align with client goals and platform trends
• Partner with creative and production teams to bring campaigns to life
• Analyze campaign performance and optimize strategies to drive engagement and cultural impact
• Develop integrated social strategies that work in tandem with paid media efforts, with a strong understanding of how paid social can amplify entertainment campaigns and key moments such as trailers, premieres, and major announcements
• Identify and recommend influencer and creator partnerships that align with campaign goals and audience targets, including proposing talent, shaping collaboration concepts, and helping integrate influencer strategy into broader social campaigns
• Translate entertainment marketing beats (trailers, casting announcements, premieres, cultural moments) into social-first campaign ideas that extend the lifecycle of key marketing moments
• Partner closely with design, motion, and editorial teams to ensure social concepts translate effectively into high-performing creative assets
• Stay ahead of platform evolution, creator ecosystems, and emerging formats to inform both client strategy and internal agency thinking
Requirements
• 5-7 years of experience in social media strategy, digital marketing, or creative agency environments
• Strong experience developing social campaigns for entertainment, media, streaming, or major consumer brands
• Established or emerging network of industry relationships across studios, streamers, brands, etc., with the ability to translate those relationships into new opportunities
• Deep understanding of social platforms, digital culture, and content strategy
• Strong awareness of platform trends, emerging creators, and shifts in digital culture, particularly within entertainment and fan communities
• Strong understanding of paid social strategy, particularly within entertainment marketing, and the ability to collaborate with paid media teams to maximize campaign impact
• Experience developing influencer and creator strategies for entertainment properties, including identifying relevant talent and shaping partnership concepts that resonate with fan communities
• Experience presenting strategy and creative ideas to clients or senior stakeholders
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building partnerships and growing business
• Active presence within the social, entertainment marketing, or brand marketing community
• Experience working on film, television, streaming, or entertainment releases, including familiarity with campaign milestones such as trailer launches, premiere windows, and cultural conversation moments, is a strong plus
