Seeking freelance and full-time editors with extensive experience in cutting both trailers and documentaries. Candidates need to be politically activated and have a passion for social change. If you want to help create thought-provoking content that can help make a difference on November 3rd, this is the ideal job for you.
This is a REMOTE editing job (preferable if you live in LA) for a new online media channel called ''The Race Series.'' Our agenda is to create short format news and documentary content that serves as an intersection between pandemic, politics, and race. There is so much dramatic change occurring in the world and our objective is to make sense of it for our audience in order to help them stay sane, safe, and informed. In addition to that, our goal is to activate and mobilize audiences to go out and vote for what will be the most important election in our country's history.
The Race Series is funded by an Asian American non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and was created by a Sundance award-winning director/producer whose features and documentaries have aired on Netflix and HBO. Our executive producer runs a successful public affairs company with a focus on ethnic marketing that empowers communities of color.
Quick turnover is imperative in our work so we are only seeking candidates that have extensive experience editing both trailers and documentaries. This includes short format docs.
Please submit your REEL and RESUME. If you don't have both, please do NOT apply. We also need 2 references from previous employers.
PAY: $300/day for freelance. If you turn out to be the right fit and talent for our team, the day rate can be renegotiated with a long term contract to work safely from home.
