As the Brand Influence & Identity team at the Oklahoma City Thunder, we are responsible for strategically shaping and positioning the brand's identity. We work with intention and purpose, focusing every day on uncovering new, meaningful ways to connect the Thunder with people on a deeper level.
We are looking for a Marketing Strategist to join our highly collaborative team. In this role, you will develop and implement marketing plans, balancing strategy, innovation, and creativity. You will also be responsible for crafting various marketing strategies and coordinating campaigns.
In this role you will:
• Plan and coordinate marketing strategies, including establishing key performance indicators, defining key messages, identifying innovative opportunities to meet our brand and business goals, and reporting results
• Lead tentpole campaign strategies, and work with internal teams to develop plans for their programs, activations, events, etc.
• Oversee in-arena and in-game brand messaging, including physical and digital spaces on the concourse, Production Assistant (PA) announcements, and radio/TV reads
• Collaborate with creative, brand, and media teams to ensure content resonates with audiences and aligns with the brand
• Manage campaign progress by communicating deliverables, objectives, and timelines to the Brand Influence & Identity and Fan Development teams, as well as other departments when appropriate, to ensure alignment
• Develop recaps and summaries of brand marketing campaigns and projects to archive and identify insights for future application
• Monitor and share insights on the social and cultural trends that influence fan segments to inspire messaging, creative output, and media strategies that enhance fan engagement
• Serve as the liaison between the Thunder and ASM (Paycom Center building management) for marketing requests and third party event planning
• Manage relationships with external partners to support the Thunder's presence at local community events
• Collaborate with collegiate partners on student marketing and branding projects related to Brand Influence & Identity and Fan Development initiatives
• Stay up-to-date with marketing and brand trends and apply relevant insights
• Perform other duties as assigned
What you'll bring to this role:
• 3-5 years of marketing and branding experience, with knowledge of traditional and digital tactics and campaign development
• Strong communication skills and storytelling ability
• Resourceful problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ambition and a passion for staying updated on industry trends
• Resilience in fast-paced environments, handling complex projects and deadlines
• Multitasking and prioritization skills, able to manage multiple projects under pressure
• Self-motivated with a collaborative mentality
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Good judgment and problem-solving skills, with a courteous approach
Additional details:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Director, Brand Influence & Identity. Primary work location will be the Thunder corporate office located in downtown Oklahoma City.
