Through impactful and powerful long and short form stories, video series and podcasts, The Players' Tribune brings fans closer than ever to the games they love.
TPT is seeking an experienced Field Producer to join their growing video team. The person in this position is required to be hands-on at every step of the production process of multiple concurrent projects, all of which will be at different stages of production; conception through pre-production and into post-production and delivery. The Field Producer will need to frequently travel for various shoots, often times on their own and some of which will require multiple days on-location. The ideal candidate will have experience shooting and editing unscripted content for digital platforms and the ability to craft a compelling narrative. Organizational and collaborative skills as well as an ability to prioritize are a must.
We are looking for someone that understands what type of video content excels on social platforms, and views content as a means for people to communicate with one another. The person in this position will be expected to constantly consider the following questions: who would want to watch this video? And why? Who would they want to send this video to? Why would they want to send it to that person? Can you predict the general comment or statement our audience will make with this video? The ideal candidate will also have experience editing unscripted content for digital platforms and the ability to craft a compelling narrative.
In this role, you will:
- Produce, shoot, direct & edit assigned videos in multiple formats, including, but not limited to: interviews, docu-follow, event coverage
- Edit different versions of your source video, with each version being optimized for the destination social platform
- Execute shoots in which you are the only crew-member, as well as supervise the shooting crew of any assigned projects which require multiple cameras, ensuring that everyone is clear on assignments and proper coverage/b-roll is obtained
- Direct and coach talent/subject in order to elicit the best performance possible
- Research and develop potential story arcs / angles for assigned projects
- Create shot lists, beat sheets to review with senior video team members
- Ensure that production protocol is being followed during shoots; obtaining releases when necessary, managing receipts for budget-related expenses, etc
- Pitch and develop new concepts under the direction of senior video team members
- Track performance of your videos once published/released and utilize both quantitative and qualitative historical data to influence future edits
- Mentor junior video team members and help them develop their cinematography skill-sets
Who we're looking for:
- 3-5 years of production experience, both in the field and in post - shooting and editing
- Familiarity with Sony & Canon cameras/lenses and lighting/sound equipment
- Well-versed in shooting multiple scenarios, including, but not limited to: interviews (both in-studio and in the field), live event coverage, docu-follow, b-roll
- A Creative storyteller who understands how to connect with social audiences
- Knowledge of social media, sports, consumer trends, pop culture, and current events
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud apps including Premiere Pro and Media Encoder
- Experience editing unscripted web content and/or documentary work
- Must have great communication skills and be able to give and receive critical feedback in a small team environment
- Ability to follow workflow guidelines and production process/protocol
- Ability to work in high pressure, fast paced production environment with quick turnarounds
- Ability to adapt to changes in production plan / schedules
- Knowledgeable of social media and digital video platforms
- 3+ years experience working in a fast paced professional environment
- Bachelor's degree in Film, Communication or related field
