This is a Part Time Paid Internship
The Community Initiatives intern will assist the department with the implementation of education programs, fan club programming, events and overall community outreach initiatives. The ideal candidate is interested in exposure to the hands-on experience of working on events and with youth, local community partners, schools and recreation centers. This paid internship will run from 9-12 months and will require 40 hours per week.
Job Responsibilities:
• Support programs and events both at Citizens Bank Park and off-site
• Represent the Phillies at community festivals throughout Philadelphia
• Assist with the preparation of materials and implementation of all Phillies education programs, including helping with assemblies at local schools and programming at recreation centers
• Assist with all aspects of Phillies Fan Clubs, including registration, mailings, event preparation and execution and acting as manager on duty of fan club kiosk on game days as needed
• Contribute to the preparation and execution of the Phillies Charities 5K and other events as assigned
• Other duties as assigned by the community outreach department
Qualifications:
• Pursuing or obtained a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a relevant field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Interest in community relations work and a strong desire to work with youth is required
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Must be able to maintain PA state certifications to work with children
• Must possess a valid driver's license
