POSITION SUMMARY:
The Coordinator, Baseball Communications will assist in all areas of the department with a primary focus on baseball information and research for game day information and publications. This position will also require media relations assistance in spring training in Clearwater, Florida as well as regular season home games and road games as assigned.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Write and edit daily pregame and postgame notes and minor league report
• Draft press releases for Phillies transactions and personnel hires
• Contribute to Phillies publications including media guides, yearbook and scorecards
• Compile and distribute daily clips
• Serve as a baseball communications representative in spring training and on select regular season road trips
• Assist with credentialing and press box setup
• Other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Journalism, Public Relations, or Communications or equivalent experience preferred
• 2-3 years of media relations or sports information experience
• Demonstrated experience working with media
• Experience or familiarity with MLB Credentialing System is a plus
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Highly organized to facilitate routine and accelerated work requests
• High degree of professionalism and ability to maintain confidential information
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to work long hours including nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary
• Ability to speak Spanish a plus
