This is a Full Time Unpaid Internship
Intern - with Stipend & Housing
Work for a music festival, nonprofit arts organization, riverfront campground development, and organic farm! A very unique paid internship (stipend, not hourly), with HOUSING and a vegetable CSA. This is a six month immersive stay from May 1st to November 1st. Ranging from 5-6 days per week, with one paid vacation.
You will live on an organic farm in rural Maine, and part of your work (about 10-15%) will involve working on the farm upkeeping trees, fields, and doing physical labor there.
Just down the hill is our new riverfront property which we are developing into campsites, cabin rentals, trails, etc. as part of an expansion project for our existing nonprofit organization North Atlantic Arts. Get in on the ground level of a property development for arts programming! You will be a meaningful voice on the team as we design event campsites, parking and trails, and build a cabin for next year's apprentices! (You will learn carpentry skills!)
In July we host one of the largest music festivals in New England, attended by over 5,000 people, with 100 staff and volunteers, grammy winning headliners in roots and americana music, and tons of work from building stages to organizing volunteers and materials for our educational music camp, hanging lights, decorating, running the front gate, merch tent, and even bartending for tips in the beer tent! Check out The Ossipee Valley Music Festival for a view into this magical experience.
In September we will also host a smaller food truck and music festival focused on the harvest season.
You will experience: music festival (physical build, management, office, marketing, etc) trail work & forestry on the new property, carpentry and construction experience (learn to build a cabin!), and organic farming, biological research, etc.
This is a PAID stipend internship. We offer $1,000/month, plus housing in a loft apartment (shared with one other person), a weekly CSA with organic veggies and eggs, and opportunities to bartend for extra cash, you can essentially bankroll most if not all of your stipend. We are 45 minutes from Portland or Conway, and 5 minutes from Cornish Maine with a grocery store, pharmacy, shops and restaurants.
