This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
Interning at The Movement Talent Agency gives students and recent graduates an up close view of the business side of entertainment. The internship is unpaid, but we can work with your school for course credit where applicable. We expect a 3 month (or one semester) commitment, and at least 2-3 half days a week (our normal hours are 10AM - 6PM, however interns may work a partial schedule)
[Internship tentatively set to begin in early January 2025 and run through April 2025]
Intern will work side by side with our main agents and assistants and have the opportunity to:
• Observe the relationships between talent agencies, casting companies, and production
• Work with contracts and learn the differences between different types of performance based work
• Learn about different unions dancers, actors, fitness personalities, and other performers are involved in
• Learn how agencies operate and how commission structures function to produce profits
Some of the responsibilities our interns may handle include:
• Working with online casting accounts used by talent and casting directors
• Reading and understanding casting breakdowns
• Updating client resumes and learn industry formatting standards
• Calling talent directly to confirm auditions and verify information
• Filing tax documents, headshots, and personal client information
• Updating the MTA website and social media platforms
• Working with Microsoft Word and Google Docs
• Filing and keeping track of Entertainment Work Permits for youth talent
• Sending communication blasts via platforms including Mailchimp to our roster
• Respond to general questions and inquiries from talent via company email
• Researching information on upcoming events, concerts, festivals, and other opportunities for pitching our talent directly to production teams and major artists
Qualifications
What we're looking for:
• You MUST be able to commit to 2-3 partial days a week for a span of time no less than 3 months (or duration of academic term)
• Applicants should be based in the greater Los Angeles area or willing to work within operating hours within the Pacific time zone
• Phone skills and communication experience are a MUST!
• Hard work and attention to detail
• Multi-tasker, self-starter, eager to learn about the entertainment industry!
• Interest in learning about the business side of entertainment
• Positive attitude
