MANAGER, BRAND PARTNERSHIPS
As a key member of the Marketing team, the Manager, Brand Partnerships, will represent The Moth in the advertising marketplace-helping to support various Moth programs, events, platforms and its mission.
Under the leadership of the Director of Marketing, this role will lead all facets of The Moth's brand partnerships/corporate sponsorship business including cultivating new relationships, stewarding existing business, and writing sponsorships materials in service of meeting yearly revenue goals. The role will also liaise with The Moth's Radio/Podcast partners to ensure they are up-to-date on all revenue generating opportunities.
The ideal candidate is smart, ambitious, and naturally curious with previous sales/corporate sponsorship experience and the conviction that storytelling is an important artform-and the desire to help it thrive.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Lead The Moth's brand partnership endeavours; spearheading new corporate sponsorship opportunities and strengthening existing franchises to ensure YOY revenue growth across The Moth Radio Hour, The Moth Podcast, The Moth Ball, Mainstage and StorySLAM events, corporate and community workshops, books and social media platforms
Constantly identify opportunities for cultivating new business opportunities, stewarding existing clients and engage past client partnerships using data and insights from current or past campaigns
Identify, approach and track a robust pipeline of prospective brand partners within Tech, Fashion, Home, Food & Beverage, Wine & Spirits, Arts & Culture, Travel and overall lifestyle categories
Collaborate with MothWorks, The Moth's private workshop and event program, to identify new prospects
Own the creation of customized sponsorship proposals, sales materials, case studies and recap decks
Ensure all presentation materials tell a consistent brand story, representative of the premium position and overall mission of The Moth
Create and negotiate terms for sponsorship contracts in collaboration with The Moth's legal team
Work directly with The Moth's production and artistic teams to ensure timely coordination of all sponsorship deliverables
Seek other forms of corporate contributions such as in-kind donations
Work with external media agency to handle sponsorship inquiries and prospect identification for sponsorship of The Moth Podcast and Radio Hour
Keep The Moth's executive team up to-date on all new sponsorship opportunities and areas of growth
Track The Moth's radio and podcast listenership, identifying key trends and revenue generating opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
A minimum of 4-5 years of client-facing digital media sales and/or non-profit corporate sponsorship sales experience
Strong relationships, both agency and in-house, within Tech, Fashion, Home, Food & Beverage, Wine & Spirits, Arts & Culture, Travel and overall lifestyle categories, as well as a proven track record of successfully cultivating new clients with no history of spending
Deep understanding of sponsor assets and their valuation
Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to meet or exceed deadlines by demonstrating initiative and ownership of projects
Deadline oriented: ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
Strategic thinker, creative problem solver, and strong operator
Proficiency in GSuite, Word, Excel and Powerpoint; ability to learn CRM Database system
