Search for Summer Intern - Programming & Theater Hospitality jobs in Philadelphia-PA
Reporting to the Programming & Special Projects Assistant, the Programming & Theater Hospitality Intern will assist in identifying and providing solutions to real-time customer experience opportunities with a focus on the planning and implementation of the Crescendo Restaurant during select Mann events. The ideal candidate has strong customer service experience and a familiarity with the Mann performance schedule. Working closely with the Vice President of Artistic Planning and the Manager of Operations & Special Projects, this role will provide a hands-on learning opportunity to those looking for programming and venue hospitality experience.
Responsibilities:
• Help manage incoming phone calls and provide outstanding customer service both over the phone and in person during Mann events
• Assist in the coordination and execution of assigned Mann Center concerts and performances
• Help to coordinate travel and hotel accommodations for visiting artists
• Assist with the creation and distribution of meeting and travel agendas for both Mann Center staff and visiting artists
• Manage the Crescendo reservation process via Formstack
• Act as front-of-house contact and greeter for the Crescendo Restaurant on nights when the restaurant is open
• Serve as Mann representative on the trolley shuttle on nights when Crescendo is open
• Online research and data entry as needed
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Experience interacting with patrons both in person and via phone while maintaining a calm, friendly demeanor
• Excellent calendar and time management skills
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of team
• Programming, event planning, or music industry experience is preferred
• Microsoft Access and Formstack experience a plus
This is an unpaid position working up to 40 hours per week during the summer including events on nights or weekends. The Mann is happy to provide documentation to receive credit from your college or university. This position can also be a volunteer opportunity for persons looking to gain experience in the fast-paced event planning and music industries.
