IW Group is seeking a publicist to join our entertainment team in the Los Angeles office.
This position is responsible for strategizing and executing multicultural campaigns, maximizing reach through press, influencers, events, and activations conducive to demonstrable ROI.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Publicity/Influencer
Ideate, implement, and lead publicity strategies that align with client goals
Assist with planning and execution of publicity campaigns
Pitch media outlets and influencers for earned coverage
Maintain a high awareness of pop culture and industry trends
Actively navigate the mass market and Asian American press landscape
Actively research and remain on top of trends and Asian American influencers
Events/Activations
Brainstorm and execute activation concepts that align with client goals
Assist with planning and execution of events/activations campaigns
Presentation:
Present and pitch campaign ideas to current clients and new business opportunities
Engage in professional and community organizations related to the agency's and client's business/industry
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field of study
Experience:
Minimum of 2-4 years of professional work experience with studios, public relations/digital agencies or entertainment company
Relevant experience in media and influencer relations
Relevant experience across key social media platforms
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent client relations/people skills
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and editing)
Understanding of the Asian American community
Organizational skills, demonstrated initiative, flexibility, sound judgment and a positive attitude
Must possess the ability to multi-task and effectively manage deadlines
Ability to create budgets and monitor expenditures
Ability to play a critical role in pitching reporters
Must be willing and able to travel
WORKING CONDITIONS:
COVID-19 considerations: We work in the office 1 day per week, all other time is remote work.
While performing the responsibilities of this role, the employee will spend most of the time working indoors, in the IW Group office, client office or remote.
This role may require extended work hours (including weekends) to complete certain projects, with or without advance notice.
This role may require work outside of the office (i.e., client events) or travel outside of the local work area (i.e., national or international client locations).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the responsibilities of this role, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
