Currently seeking senior & intermediate-level talent to join an innovating mobile engineering team. We're looking for rockstar developers who are ready to build the apps that will showcase our Pulitzer Prize winning editorial to a global audience. HuffPost is changing the landscape of the publishing space, and we need qualified, ambitious coders to build truly compelling apps and extensible infrastructure.
Position Responsibilities
• Build custom native user interfaces using the latest iOS standards and techniques
• Integrate with external and internal web services and interfaces
• Optimize UI and application code for efficiency, reusability and performance
• Focus on UI design principles and make apps work intuitively, without compromising on simplicity
• and elegance.
• Periodically meet with development and content partners onsite, in order to maintain the business relationship, plan future development, and resolve any open issues.
• Perform systems engineering and automation tasks as requested.
• Create, maintain, and enhance build and test infrastructure for Continuous Integration.
• Participate in software requirements analysis, collaborative design and code review, and test plan creation.
• Delivering testable and quality code that can be rapidly deployed
• Evangelize best practices around building mobile applications
• Communicate effectively and openly within the team
• Grasp the big picture, have big thoughts and the courage to voice them!
Qualifications
• Building complex applications for iOS using Objective-C/C with Cocoa and other frameworks
• At least 5 years of relevant experience and a BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Multithreading, memory management and caching mechanisms specific to mobile devices
• Grasp of platform specific and broader software design patterns
• Agile development methodologies and working models
• Excellent source control skills and discipline.
• Complete multi-cycle SDLC experience.
• In-depth familiarity with Xcode/Instruments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated team player who demonstrates initiative and flexibility.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
