This is a Full Time Job
The Huffington Post seeks an experienced operations lead to drive planning and collaboration across the newsroom and larger organization. Candidates should be clear, efficient, compassionate communicators and relish the challenge of pulling together different departments to reach singular goals. Experience with short and long-term editorial planning is required, as is a background in working in tandem with business leads. Candidates should be fluent in the demanding needs of an evolving newsroom and have a history of implementing and maintaining systems that assist in communication and workflow. They will also be informed, inspired thinkers about the industry, with a broad array of industry experience, and be active participants tackling the challenges of the business of journalism. This position is based in New York City and reports to the Editor in Chief.
Qualifications
• 10 years of newsroom experience, at least 2 of those in an operational or managing editor role
• Experience coordinating across departments-editorial, business development, product, analytics, PR-in a high-pressure newsroom environment
• Comfort with managing multiple tasks at the same time
• Demonstrated ability with cross-organizational planning, maintaining schedules, and enforcing deadlines
• Facility with operational systems creation, implementation, training, and management
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
